Cindy McCain Mother Teresa Story Fabricated

Gilding the lily is nothing new to politics. From the 1840s when William Henry Harrison claimed to have been born in a log cabin (it was actually a Virginia plantation) to Ronald Reagan's reminiscing about flying over Germany in World War II (he did, but only in a movie), politicians have taken perfectly good stories and embellished them.

The latest embellishments come from the McCain camp. Cindy McCain has repeatedly referred to herself as an "only child." This week came news that she actually has two half sisters, although apparently she had very little contact with them.

The McCain campaign had also put out the story that Mother Teresa "convinced" Cindy to bring home two orphans from Bangladesh in 1991.

Mrs. McCain, it turns out, never met Mother Teresa. (Once contacted by the Monitor, the campaign revised the story on its website.)

This is interesting. I've done a little research on Cindy McCain since I knew nothing about her. I've never read where Mother Teresa was personally involved in this adoption. All I read was it was an orphanage started by Mother Teresa just like this story says.

Lying about Mother Teresa, the children from banglidesh, wow. I just do not get it, how can Americans be so freaking stupid as to buy into the McCain's, his words and his septic tank mouth. I just do not get it. Have we as Americans become so stupid that we accept such low life actions as normal every day acceptable behavior. Reality is that is not the case, the facts is there are more racist and sexist bigots in this country then we are willing to admit. I personally am ashamed to admit this as fact but there is no other reasonable explaination as to why McCain is so popular. It sure has nothing to do with McCains qualifications, his ability to lead this country, or his deep seeded concern for the well being of Americans as a whole. Everyone needs to seriously listen to McCain then go check his voting record. This man is a sham, he in fact was absent over 50% of his voting career. He could honestly care less about Veterans, the Military, our senior citizen, the poor, the impoverished, the meek, or the economy. Worst of all his voting record on education, our children and the future of this country is shameful. I just do not understand, maybe I am stupid or something, I was raised judge a man by the his word, his deeds and his moral character, not the color of his skin.

So, did McCain himself meet Mother Teresa? Because the other night, on Larry King Live, Rick Warren said that McCain had tears in his eyes as he gave certain answers, one of which supposedly referred to Mother Teresa and the adoption of his daughter.

McCain told this story at the Meeting in Saddleback on Saturday. McCain said Mother Teresa asked Cindy to bring back these two orphans and Cindy brought one home and said meet your new daughter. McCain told the same story in the house of God.

I can't stand liars. This just disgusts me to no end. Cookie recipes, stealing drugs from the charity she is supposed to support, addicted to drugs and sent to rehab in lieu of conviction and, now lying about her family and meeting Mother Theresa - it all makes sense. As for McCain, lying about the cross in the dirt story is really beyond the pale. If this country elects him then it gets the same set of liars we now have in the Whitehouse and the message will be clear, youcan lie, cheat and steal, we don't care.
