n an unusual move, Hillary Clinton's staff is creating a 40-member "whip team" at the Denver Democratic convention to ensure that her supporters don't engage in embarrassing anti-Obama demonstrations during the floor vote on her nomination, according to people familiar with the planning.

The team, which is being organized by longtime Clinton staffer Craig Smith, is working in conjunction with Obama's floor organizers to help foster the image of a unified front during a roll-call process Clinton herself has described as an emotional "catharsis" for her disappointed supporters.

"If people get down there on the floor and want to start blowing kazoos and making a scene we want to make sure we've got people who stand in front of them with Obama signs," said person involved in the planning.

This is a dead post, but I just can't help myself.....

Wow, Hill really (finally) looked defeated tonight at the NY State Fair.

She got what she deserved and she finally knows it. I am happy now.

No need to create a whip team or any other team except a lets join the Obama team, team.

If she would just display some strong leadership qualities like she told us she has over and over again during the primaries, there would be no need to quell the uprising.

But somehow I surmise that she is not quieting down the dissension among her most ardent supporters too strenuously.

She roughed up our nominee pretty badly and now it seems to be taking her and Bill forever to reverse that criticism and patch things up.

Obama/Clark

Hillary Clinton is still describing Barack Obama as her "opponent." That is as of today. She cannot bear to say his name??? Mixed singles, and no doubt not a mistake by her little snakeness.

Anyone else see Diane Mantavantasomething on Hardball tonight. She's the "founder" of justsaynodeal.com Again, a very reassuring intervew-she has no facts only lots of emotion (and chicklet teeth.) She said she and her group don't care what Clinton says, they're going to Denver (but need donations to get there) and even though they don't have access to the floor, she's scheduled lots of media interviews. She scolded Matthews for not covering McCain's VP pick enough because if his pick is moderate enough, she might be persuaded to go with McCain since he's a moderate. She also said she won't "be sad" if Obama loses.

Clearly an attention w--re with lots of time on her hands.

Yes, I saw her and still am wondering who she is voting for - - or why. And I still can't understand how you could have voted D all your life, supported the queen, and now would even consider voting for the GOP candidate.

She said she 'fell in line' during the last primary when her candidate lost, but not this time. Why do these nodealers think their candidate lost? And the only reason they won't vote D this time is lack of experience?

Yeah, right.

Has anyone read the whole story and then read the comments on Politico? I haven't heard such snarling, mean, nastiness since my daughter was is middle school.

With that kind of mindless hatred....how can the USA come out ahead. I am really embarrassed for them. What sort of model are they giving their daughters.....actually, now that I think about it, it is probably their daughters that were the hate spitting 'mean girls' in middle school. HMMMMMM

[These disgruntled women"whether they plan to vote for John McCain, sit out the election, or simply gobble up airtime"are tacitly working toward electing McCain; a candidate who claimed last week at a presidential forum at Saddleback Church that life begins "at the moment of conception" and who voted against legislation ensuring equal pay for women. These women must be well aware that a vote for McCain is a vote to overturn Roe. I assume they don't care. But my real problem with the Hillary Harridans"and the media's relentless focus on them"is that they give new life to Paleozoic stereotypes about irrationally destructive older women. ]

They are BULLIES like their mentors, Rush Limbaugh (funds PUMAs) and Hillary Clinton, who has tapped into their zeitgeist superbly and -- they are a true reflection of her and visa versa -- beyond the carefully orchestrated, decades-long very expensive PR spin of Hillary-the-VICTIM.

As a New Yorker who has watched this movie in horror -- I say, Hillary is no victim; New Yorkers and all American women are HER victims.

If John McCain wins, we will know the truth of this.

New Yorkers will hold Clinton Inc. to account -- as ONLY we can. That's why she hasn't returned since we stopped her Campaign. We may have been fooled, but we ARE NOT fools. Manhattan ain't Arkansas.

I just want to know why Hillary Clinton felt the need to make fun of not only Obama supporters, but Democratic voters in general?

"...and the heavens will open up, and celestial choirs will say..."

...if Clinton is on the ticket, I am voting for Cynthia McKinney.

Hillary's (and her husband's point) -- If they don't win and get their way, John McCain-her "friend" and who she validated during the Primaries over anyone BUT HER (them?) -- will be win.

I really don't know why Democrats and the Democratic Party doesn't get this -- once and for all.

New Yorkers, the bluest State -- we aren't Arkansas. Remember this.

End the Clinton DRAMAS, New York.

First, It's HRCs staff that is organizing this, not Obama's.

Second, rather than base your vote on the comments of a few people who support a heretofore Clinton opponent, I would hope that you would use stronger criteria in casting that ballot. Perhaps you can give some thought as to what is at stake here, weigh the candidate positions, think about what is in the best interest for the future of this country.

This election is too important to let anyone else's pettiness dictate your position.

Hillary, queen of BOSNIA SELF-DELUSION, shares similar qualities to PUMAs whipping themselves into a frenzy based upon LIES -- to justify their collective angst.

"Fatal Attraction" come to life -- and not to the benefit of women at large, who long before we reached the age of 60, learned to suffer life's setbacks with DIGNITY and GRACE -- preparing the groundwork for another day.

Hillary Clinton WILL HAVE HER DAY and WILL BE RESPECTED, OR ELSE! [insert foot stamp here]

The Nation, the Courts, the WARS, our daughters...be damned! [insert foot stamp, here]

...yes, that's a great example for our daughters...and for the history books.

Ridiculous. More women need to speak out about this to ensure WE and our collective history is not defined by this spoiled, elitest, SELFISH woman and those like her. Privileged class and ANGRY about their personal lives -- and taking it out on us.

Take it out on Bill, Hill.

Call a taxi for Bellevue Hospital, please! Taxi! Taxi! Oops! Forgot...Hillary doesn't know HOW to catch a taxi in Manhattan. Gotta love our Junior Senator -- from DC and who resides in....DC!

We've got every reason to hate each other. We've said some nasty words. I personally will not forgive Hillary Clinton or Bill Clinton for their Leiberman-like praise of John McCain, his foreign policy credentials, and his energy policies when the makeup of the Supreme Court, tax policies that favor corporate interests, and threats around the world that will require true diplomacy. While some of John McCain's republican colleagues have said that Senator McCain's temperment makes him unfit to lead, the Clinton's continue to praise Senator McCain.

To me, the Clinton's are a pack of Leibermans.

However, do you really think that our country will turn around under Senator McCain? In the last 7 years, the Supreme Court has become more or less a political arm of the Executive branch to carry out a conservative ideology.

I blame the millions of idiots who once voted for Bill Clinton and then decided that George Bush would lead this country in the right direction by with deficit spending to support an unnecessary war: billions of dollars every month. These people were comfortable voting for the village idiot because a small group of veterans who did not serve in John Kerry's unit waged a smear campaign.

What would the Supreme Court look like if there was a liberal Chief Justice instead of Chief Justice Roberts, who was appointed in 2005, after the 2004 election?

I voted for Kerry. I am proud that I voted for my interests based on the issues.

Hillary really only has herself to blame for the position she's in now. Like the habitual lottery player whose number hits on the one and only time she forgets to buy a ticket, she gambled on supporting the Iraq war as the key to winning the White House. She seems too skilled and too smart to have been misled into thinking that invading and occupying Iraq was a sensible idea.

The Clintons built their political dynasty on African-American votes. For 30 years they campaigned in black churches and courted black leaders. But when faced with an African-American primary opponent in Barack Obama, they went out of their way to dissociate themselves from black voters. It wasn't racism or a renewed passion for feminism, but a cold, pragmatic realization that black voters no longer served their interests and therefore became expendable.

Members of Puma PAC might eventually learn what black Americans and Iraq war opponents already have: If she can't use them, she'll lose them. Clinton is, in the end, the woman Jesse Jackson. She blazed a trail that someone else will follow all the way to the end. If their true aim is to see a woman in the Oval Office, Clinton and her supporters should hold their ire until next time around, to support the next woman who contends for the presidency"whoever becomes the woman Barack Obama.

18 million votes is chump change when it comes to the Presidential election. Bush beat Gore by over 60 million votes. No way Hill wins in 2012 when Republicans, Independents and now Obama supporters cannot stand the Clintons any longer. 18 millions votes will not bring you anywhere near the Whitehouse, but it will produce the biggest PMS fair ever!!!
