From AP:

Former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani will give the keynote address at the Republican National Convention next month and Democrat-turned-independent Sen. Joe Lieberman also will take center stage at the GOP gathering.

John McCain's vanquished Republican primary rivals -- and a slew of potential McCain running mates -- also have speaking roles at the four-day gathering in St. Paul, Minn.

President Bush, Vice President Dick Cheney, first lady Laura Bush, California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger and Lieberman, who was the Democratic vice presidential nominee in 2000 and is said to be under consideration for the same role with McCain, will open the convention on Monday, Sept. 1, with speeches that focus on service.

When asked about the RNC lineup, McCain's campaign manager Rick Davis said:

'the senator wanted the list of speakers to showcase the "diversity" of the Republican Party.

"I think one of the things that is important, especially for John McCain, as unique a politician as he is, is to demonstrate the diversity and differences of ideology I would say of our party," Davis said. "I think one of the things that people forget about is we are not a very monolithic as a party. We really want to show some of that."'

I'm watching and listening intently on the GOP switching between CNN, MSNBC and even the FAUX News station. When they pan the floor, I see no diversity. Maybe a small handful of dark skinned males sprinkled here and there. Images from the GOP show the same oh, there was a latin looking female singer on stage for entertainment. Hmm, and a shot of someone's cowboy hat with buttons, one saying English is America's First Language or something like that find it and more on http://www.zimbio.com/pictures/-jyIUY-O9FG/2008+Republican+National+Convention+Day+1

Also, I notice the speakers are spewing foul in the part of the Obama camp not stopping the questions they swear are smears or sexist on blogger sites against McCain's judgement and Palin's family values, but yet didn't apologize for their bloggers who lied about Obama's birth certificate and his religion, defaming American Muslims and attacking Michelle Obama. Hmmm. Same Old Party, Same Old Game.

Still doesn't change reality, Palin man or women, kids or not, still not fit for the one of highest job in the nation. As for McCain, only thing I see is same old tactics of distraction, pandering same old failed policies. Obama and Biden focused on the issues and answered my questions on health, cleaning up Government, working with Americans who are hard working. The came across Strong and Prosperous. Now that's a winning team.

What a joke! When Obama becomes president, the first thing he needs to do is clean house! And that means clean out all of those reblicans that he knows that will stab him in the back. And I'm so glad he picked Biden! Biden needs to lay some of those bastards out immediately. And he needs to let Obama in on who the Good Ole' Boys are so he can clean that crap up too. The Obama campaign played Hillary out to the max - led by Caroline Kennedy! Dream Ticket...yeah, right! Thank you Bill and Hillary. Obama let you have your say and now you can go chill out for the next 4 to 8 years. So, see ya (and I wouldn't wanna be ya)!

I want to see the Ron Paul convention put these guys to shame!

I'll be voting for Obama in November(unless Clinton's on the ticket, then it's McKinney), but I'm behind you fully RP supporters.

Show those Neo-Cons what that party should be about!

"We have both kinds of music: country AND western!"

And the GOP has all kinds of people: rich, filthy rich, and just plain old filthy!

I wonder if the GOP delegation will again hold up their fingers with the purple bandaid like they did out of disrespect for Kerry's military service.

Great selection of speakers for the repub convention. This really shows what they are all about.

Liberman: Topic of his speech. "Party loyalty"

Cheney: Topic of his speech: "Will discuss how war is good for the American economy and will hold up his Halliburton stocks to prove it" He will be broadcast live, not from convention floor, but from his bunker.

Rudy: Topic of his speech: No topic but he is trying to get in the Guiness World book for saying 911 the most times in 15 minutes.

Lil Georgie: Topic of his speech: "My accomplishments while in office". To fill up the rest of that minute he will do a shadow puppet show which will definitely get the crowd cheering and yelling "Encore".

Imagine that, a puppet putting on a puppet show! What will they think of next?
