McCain Calls Lobbyists "Birds Of Prey"

Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) called lobbyists "birds of prey" Wednesday and vowed to enforce a lifetime ban on lobbying for members of his administration.

"Whenever there's a corrupt system, then you're going to have these birds of prey descend on it to get their share of the spoils," McCain said in a half-hour interview with Politico following a town-hall meeting in the southern part of this swing state.

McCain, clearly weary of vice-presidential speculation, began by saying preemptively that he was not going to say anything about the hot topic. His mood initially seemed sour, and his answers were clipped, although he warmed as the conversation went on.

JM is a war monger who believes that war is the first move, not the last resort. He will get us involved w/ wars in Iran & escalate conflicts with the Soviet Union.

This should be the line of attack that the O campaign takes. It is a strong case (even repubs are afraid of him) given the temper and temperment of the guy - essentially, the same thing Bush did to Kerry: "If you vote for McC, you might die" the subtle subtext message (or not so subtle).

Honestly, this will be incredibly difficult for McC to fight off - given the clips you can run. Even more effective if you can get Colin Powell to speak out against him, as Clark and Clarke have done, Albright, etc... Add in Hagel.

Also add in the fact that the Iraqi & Afgan gov't support O, not to mention Europe ("only O can restore America's standing in the world")

Then - pile on with the economic message - utilize the economic advisor advantage: Carly Fiorna is a lightweight. Showcase Warren Buffet, (maybe) Soros, Robert Rubin, etc..., etc..., etc...

Close out with the appeal to women - "McC will take away the right to chose"

Result: landslide
