Limbaugh On Obama: Dems, Media Believe "You Can't Criticize The Little Black Man-Child"

On the August 20 broadcast of his nationally syndicated radio show, Rush Limbaugh asserted of attacks by Sen. John McCain against Sen. Barack Obama: "[S]ee, there are Democrats -- the drive-bys" -- a term Limbaugh uses to denote the national media -- "are just so upset with these so-called 'ferocious attacks.' These have been benign. Even the Britney Spears/Paris Hilton ad was funny. It was benign." He later added: "It's -- you know, it's just -- it's just we can't hit the girl. I don't care how far feminism's saying, you can't hit the girl, and you can't -- you can't criticize the little black man-child. You just can't do it, 'cause it's just not right, It's not fair. He's such a victim."

It's true, you can't be critical of Obama. If you do it's called a "smear" and you are called a racist, even if the critique has nothing to do with his skin color.

There is an entire laundry list of things wrong with Obama, his skin color is NOT one of them.

It's a guarrantee that when he loses in November, it will be because of racism, even when it isn't.

This claim of "code words" in the comments here is absurd. Let me break out the decoder ring for you. "Man-child" does not mean "boy". It means immature man. "Little" does not refer to BO's physique. It refers to the thinness of his political resume. And "black" is referring to BO's race, you know, that thing that you liberals obsess on while insisting that everyone else ignore it.

This is not surprising. Republicans are ruled by fear. They fear losing money, they fear those who worship differently from them, they fear losing identity and territory to immigrants, they fear an "uprising" by Blacks, etc, etc*. It's only natural that they fear Obama.

Why do they fear him, you ask? It's simple:

Every individual or group that has ever broken the proverbial "glass ceiling" has had to be exceptional (i.e. they couldn't just be good, they had to be *GREAT*). This is most evident in entertainment and sports, but also applies to politics and academia. And no matter how his opponents try to define him, Obama *IS* an exceptional political figure.

If Obama truly turns out to be a great American president, what do you think will happen to Republicans? First, Bush's disgraceful presidency will be placed in its proper historical context, damaging the Republican brand for decades to come (loads of Bush supporter videos). Next, while racism will always be a problem, its effectiveness as a wedge and mobilizer will be significantly reduced.

The Republicans already know this. Thus we have Limbaugh and his poisonous ilk quaking in their boots reduced to calling Obama "boy". That's just the beginning. Next up: the dreaded "n-word".

We are coming to an end of the "Mad Men" era where this surreal pretense can continue. "Mad Men" have controlled our airwaves, spectrum sales and advertising sales economic currency -- until the Internet and Google blew this setup apart. Now, a more diverse perspective and REALITY is emerging.

Older boomer men -- and their fathers -- are NOT happy. I don't blame them. British men who lived like kings during the colonial era -- and British Raj era -- also had a difficult adjustment period.

Notice how Rush is given an uber-$400mil by the traditional media "Mad Men" to keep their voice heard on OUR airwaves. Deregulation by Clinton/Bush Inc. have defanged our FCC and Federal Election laws (and the banks, insurance, healthcare industries...) to the extent there are NO PROTECTIONS and anything goes.

What don't you get about it? He has an extremely large audience and hugely successful show. Therefore, he is getting paid what the market will bear.

Air America, on the other hand, has virtually no audience which is why it makes no money and is an exercise in futility.

I guarantee you one thing, when the national complexion of the nation begins to change, there will be a cottage industry of folks who finally discover that a large portion of the white population has African DNA. It has been known for some time that one's skin color is not an absolute method of determining who is 'black' or 'white' as there are blacks who have more DNA markers indicating European ancestry and there are some whites who have more DNA markers indicating they are black.

Rush, Sean, Ann and the rest of these folks carry on the illusion of 'purity' in and among some circles in the white community, it is their us v. them mentality which basically is the fabric which undergirths the entirety of their identity politics. It is certainly stirred with fear and hate but it is mainly comprised of 'white superiority' and its denial of the scientific reality that is forthcoming over the next decades. These nutcases have their fingers on the 'dike' and in spite of their short-term success, change ultimately in the form of demographics will wash them away.
