ABC News:

The Center for Responsive Politics has a thorough analysis of Sen. Joe Biden's campaign cash intake now that Sen. Barack Obama, D-Ill., has selected him as his running mate.

The industry that has given Biden the most cash has been lawyers/law firms ($6,567,404) followed by real estate ($1,297,690). Pro-Israel groups are the 8th biggest contributing industry.

Obama may decry lobbyist cash (or at least federal lobbyist cash), but Biden has taken $344,400 from lobbyists since 1997 -- making lobbyists the 10th biggest contributing industry.

$344, 400 doesn't seem like much of a problem over 11 years.

Ummmmmmmmmm, everyone has accepted lobbyist money except for Obama. As a matter of fact Biden is so broke he can talk about Obama's tax plan LITERALLY helping him.

I have read that Biden is the poorest Senator in the Senate?? Something doesn't add up? You would think he might be worth $30 million now...after 35 years in the Senate. Oh, that would be McCain.

He took out a second mortgage to put his kids through college. A mortgage that he hasn't paid off yet.

Personally I think that is a great and noble way to go into debt.

Great and noble? No, it's bad money management.

It's a good to watch how the lobbyists spread the cash and pull strings, but these amounts look like only enough to keep the channels open. Where else have these lobbyists been placing their bets, and how big are the other bets?

My guess is that those days are over.

Biden wouldn't have signed on if that were a major issue for him.

If lobbyist were a big issue, J McC would be so far out of this thing by now. I dont think they want to go there.

Sure they'll go there. They think they can say anything, no matter how hypocritical it may be, and if it comes home to roost, they'll just say a noun, a verb, and POW.

SO WHAT .................. BIDEN WAS RAISING MONEY FOR HIS CAMPAIGN.................... THAT WAS THEN AND THIS IS NOW.

Biden is now on the Obama team, and Obama is running HIS SHOW.

The money for Obama's campaign was raised by Obama and not Biden................ This is a non-story.

Is the news menu that thin where we are going to have journalists/pundits/bloggers searching to find differeneces between Obama and Biden?

Obama and Biden are 2 different people, coming from 2 different places, and have joined together for ONE CAUSE ...........

TO RESCUE AMERICA FROM THE BUSH/McCAIN FAILED POLICIES WHICH HAVE REEKED HAVOC, PAIN AND DISPAIR ON THE AMERICAN PEOPLE.

This is a GREAT ticket which has the knowledge, experience and compassion to address EVERY MAJOR ISSUE FACING THIS NATION...................... AND THIS IS CAUSING THE REPUPLICANS UNTOLD HEARTACHE AND FEAR..........................

We have already seen the Republican DESPERATION with the airing of the Biden ad, and also with the new ad featuring Hillary and why she is not Obama's running mate, which is aimed at the PUMA crowd in an effort to disrupt the unity in the Democratic party.

List the names and amounts of McBush's lobbyists, starting with big OIL, then give me a call back. Trust me the repugs do not want to take it there.

NEXT.......Batter UP!

The industry that has given Biden the most cash has been lawyers/law firms ($6,567,404) followed by real estate ($1,297,690). Pro-I.srael groups are the 8th biggest contributing industry. Lawyers, law firms, individual donations, not a lobby. Real estate? It's not clear how those donations come through, it could be individual donors, it's not clear whether this is a lobby. Pro I.sreal groups, there's no dollar amount here and no indication that these are donations to Biden. I'm not sure why this is mentioned, unless I'm mssing something.

So Biden has taken $344,000 since 1997. That's ten years. That's $34K per year. That's "RAKING IT IN"??? I would venture that on the lobbyist donation scale, Biden is at the low end. Lower, I suspect, than what we would have seen for Senator Clinton.

Yeah, 34k a year is small potatoes. I don't understand why some writers feel as if they have to sensationalize titles "Rakes in Lobbyist Cash." Give me a break.

at 34k a year, no wonder his net worth is only $150k.

O, wait I just saw the publisher, ABC News. OK, now i get it.

If the reporter for ABC News thinks $34K a year is "raking it in", I'd hate to think of the low wage ABC News is paying that person.

The lobbyist story is not resonating in this election. It's clearly economy and national security.

Connections with lobbying have always only been third tier concerns at best, at least for me.

Being a champion of civil liberties, the middle class, social justice and equality are just a bit more important to me, by maybe a hundredfold.

Lawyers: independent donations, not a lobby. Real estate -- Is that a lobby? I don't understand the composition of those donations. They mention Pro-Israel groups but don't attach a dollar figure or point to a donation to Biden. Pretty sloppy reporting, unless I missed something.

Biden has taken $344,000 from lobbyists since 1997. That's 10 years, $34K per year.

That's "RAKING IT IN"???

I think from the lobbyist donations standpoint, Biden is probably on the lower end of the scale. Certainly better than the figures we would have seen for Senator Clinton.
