Free Speech ? Since when did Fox decide the Amendments to the Constitution are important ?

Why is profanity not considered free speach on Faux Snooz? I would argue profanity oftentimes gets your point across much more clearly. After all the Public Enemy song isn't "Why I tend to believe the police department is racially biased." I hope you all aren't too young to get that point.

The Dems have some raucous folks with a far left agenda. To answer RightWingMarine, you won't see these people at the RNC they have their own supporters, like the Klan and the people hoping to bring on the rapture.

Fox news should be ashamed. Sending in that goofball of a reporter. I felt sorry for him because they (Fox News) are using him. But seriously, this is a tactic that they use to make the left look bad. They were actually hoping someone would hit Jenkins,so they could make the case that the left is violent and doesn't deserve to run the country. Notice how the reporter made it sound as if they might start rioting just because no one would speak to Griff Jenkins.

Ask Ward Churchhill how free your speech is

Favorite    Flag as abusive Posted 11:32 AM on 08/25/2008

Freedom of speech does not guarantee freedom from consequences. You can say what you like, but you may pay later. By people who also have freedom of speech. Ward said what he wanted. Others did not like what he said. Ward thought he was suppose to be able to say whatever he wanted about whom ever he wanted and no one was to judge his words. This is the same thing you all accuse President Bush about everyday here in HuffPo land. But it is okay when you do it? Right? Is that what I am hearing here?

How many people have died or been maimed or billions of taxpayer dollars WASTED because of Churchills words-NONE
ANYONE who uses Bush to try to prove a point or to somehow "justify" something,YOU HAVE NO POINT,you are trying to justify the Un-just.Defending the indefensible.Rationalize the irrational.

Bush was free to make his "Bring'em On " threat, goading the so-called "terrorist" into wanting to kill more of our troops.Bush was free to MOCK "not finding those WMDs",remember him running around The Oval Office looking for those WMDs under the chairs or maybe under the desk,"Well,no WMDs here, maybe their over there" HaHaHa! Man! thats friggin' hilarious isn't it?!
SO what exactly is your point?

It was just a bunch of punks marching in the street. Not a real message except that they don't like Fox News...big surprise there.

It was a typical display of our youth, though. Foul, cocky and very little to say. Nice display of today's young liberals.

"It was a typical display of our youth, though. Foul, cocky and very little to say. "

Funny, that's what the British said, albeit in 18th century language, about the American patriots who signed the Declaration of Independence

That sounds nice and all, but I would love to see the reference for that.

To compare those in that video to the Founding Fathers shows how little regard you have for those that actually founded the country. There is NO comparison between the two.

Cindy Sheehan, who's a Green Party candidate, was trying to get the protesters to settle down and quit acting like thugs on camera.

Still giggling over this. So Fox News thinks that because people don't want to talk to a biased tool of the right that they don't believe in freedom of speech? Seems to me the chant was indeed exercising that right. I may be smiling the rest of the day at this one.

LOL, Fox News only sends nerds to get news, and I hope no one speaks to them to show they are just instigators, and do not report the real news. GO, GO Protestors, good job!

Hope their ratings go down the toilet.

These people are American patriots and are exercising their freedom of assembly and freedom of speech you Fox news idiots. They also have a right not to talk to anyone, and this is why they don't want to talk to this idiot reporter:

Fox exercises freedom of speech everyday, but they spin rather than report facts. Anyone who educates themselves by researching and searching out the truth knows this. Their "owners" have an agenda and that's why too many of these news organizations, especially Fox, distort facts and label people. What's leftist about being anti-war? Anyone who calls themselves pro-life should be anti-war. If you aren't, you are a hypocrite. So it's not news anymore, it's propaganda.

I wouldn't be surprised to see Fox spin run a big feature story called "American Patriots" and select Gonzales and Mr. Torture himself, John Yoo, as the poster boys.

And I must add that the Iraqis are anti-war too and keep asking Bush/Cheney/Rice when the hell we (the invaders and occupiers) are leaving. That's free speech Fox

Hate to tell you what happened in Denver Sun. afternoon as I was there. We had a ball and it was a love feast. Never mind that I'm 68 and in a wheelchair the crowd was warm and inspiring and we watched Chris do his show on MSNBC. The marchers joined us with bikes and banners and melted into the crowd with laughter and joy. Loved their banners and the fact that they embarassed Fox News, all the better. The real press is there and what they are seeing is much more important than what Fox says anyway. The Denver Police, Fireman and Special Help from Community Depts. had little or no problems with plenty of time to smile and watch the crowd. Wow the conference on the second floor of the BiG TENT kept us informed on so many issues affecting our envirement and the look to the future for our planet. Buttons, Hats and Fans were our booty for the day and thanks to Light Rail staff I safely got on and off at the proper stop. Wish you all could have been there to see the start of an unbelievable convention with we oldies and the hope for the future, new young voters, laughing and talking about the need for a CHANGE. Obama love is there and I didn't run into even one of the DREADED PUMAS in that crowd of several thousand.

So, I guess freedom of speech is only valid if you use clean words and don't speak out against war and corporate media.

I think you got it. Using the f word is out of control and immoral. Hey, just being a "leftist" is immoral. Nasty little propagandists.

Good thing the founders were "Nasty little propagandists", than conseravtives would not even have a country to ruin.

What I got from this, besides a good chuckle over watching Fox get heckled for a change, was what a GREAT country we live in. In MANY countries in the world, this wouldn't even be remotely possible. Yes, some of the people are just nuts and media seekers rather than really believing in the issue that they say that they do, but to allow those with messages, whether we believe in them or not, to have a forum to express them is fantastic.

Some have said that the founding fathers would be sad to see this, but I think the founding fathers recognized that a democracy/republic was going to have some warts and they would more than happy to put up with it for the overall common good. As a general lesson of what makes this country so great, I would urge people to look at the writings and actions of John Adams and in particular, his actions after the Boston Massacre.

May God truly bless the United States of America. For all of our warts, it's still a great country!

You can do this kind of thing in most of the civilized world. I'm trying to put down what you said, I agree with it, however, I think we should try and raise the bar rather than pat ourselves on the back that we're not in the pack that's way behind.

I appreciate the "civility" in the response :-).

I would say though that Russia, China, and Pakistan, among others, are considered parts of the civilized world, but this type of protest, even as silly as some of it is, wouldn't be allowed at this level.

I agree that we should demand more out of those that protest, but to some extent, our leaders and media don't do a good job of setting the bar high or even just providing an example of how civil discourse should be done. Unfortunately we've gotten to a point where people can't disagree without a lot of screaming, innuendo, and downright ugliness ... present company excepted :-).
