The reception they so richly deserve.

A few thoughts...

First, this is funny. It's fun to see Fox News no longer getting much respect. That's as it should be, given how clearly partisan and right-wing they are. Just watching the reporter's behavior (at the anchordesk and on the street) reinforces that.

Second, freedom of speech? Methinks that reporter needs to go back to journalism school. Freedom of speech isn't about citizens being required to answer any journalist's questions (no matter how much the "media's" hyper-inflated egos might want it to be about that). In fact, political protesting is *exactly* the purpose of freedom of speech.

Finally, however, some sadness. While these kids protesting, marching, and screaming "f*** Fox News" might think they're being clever and subversive, they're not. Nobody watching that who is NOT already a dyed-in-the-wool Democrat is going to be swayed by it. In fact, I would wager that most independents and slightly-right-of-center folks will come away from that with a bitter taste in their mouth about groups on the left. It's like the Seattle riots some years ago; their might have been a core of protesters with a real message about fairness and change, but their message was drowned out by the infantile actions of a bunch of hooligans who just wanted to party, get laid, and break stuff.

I'm a life-long Democrat and fairly liberal in almost all my views but folks, we need to grow up.

Just a point ouroborous, the Seattle riots were just that, riots, with people that weren't even involved with the protests joining in to destroy property. The protesters in Denver used a little bad language but were otherwise well behaved. Their chant wasn't intended to sway Republicans. It was a simple (and hilarious) statement of the frustration we all feel that such a biased organization can even be allowed to have "news" in its name. I think any adverse reaction to the language will be more generational that political (but I'm an old fogey and I loved it).

Oh, I laughed my ass off, don't get me wrong.

I guess in my mind I was confusing the serious "I have a dream" style of protesting of past generations, and the style of "protesting" of today which mostly seems to be about finding a great party and getting laid, and not very much at all about the issues.

I have nothing wrong with parties and getting laid, but it's very, very hard to get the public to take you seriously when it seems like that's your agenda. Reference the "Twix" commercial where the guy at the protest meeting tries to get the girl to come back to his apartment by talking about being a "true believer" and blogging.

It's a sign that the main stream in America doesn't take protesters seriously, and my assertion is that maybe that lack of taking us seriously is somewhat deserved if "f*ck Fox News" is considered to be real political speech.

Yeah, we probably need to grow up but I can't help but relish the sight of Fox being disrespected.

While I agree about growing up, I have to say this is going to give me much joy for months to come. After so many years of being around sheep who believe feax news above any form of reality, that was a beautiful thing to see.

And as far as their "message", people only watch feax news to reinforce what they already believe. Those are the people who would tear apart the best speeches ever given in order to hear whatever they want to hear. That's why IMO it doesn't really matter. If they spoke to other media, they had a far better chance to get their message to someone who might actually listen, and they knew that. I think the world would be a much better place if everyone refused to speak to feax news (No, they needn't chant profanities).

Not answering this nerd’s stupid questions has little to do with “free speech”. The only free speech wing nut’s believe in is their own, my conservative brother-in-law thinks Americans are to free to express themselves, but at the same time loves to direct his irrational words of wisdom at me. He also thinks the 2nd amendment is more important than the 1st, if that were the case why didn’t the founders reverse the order?

I'm a repub and toatlly believe in free speach, and that means I am totally opposed to the fairness act. The act is aimed at silencing people not promoting freedom of speach. Moreover, I agree with you that guy is a nerd.

well I've certainly been swayed.

Since the protesters refused to express their viewpoint and instead decided to scream profanities and jostle the reporter all I have left to draw on is what the female reporter had to say. So this group is there to riot like in '68? I'm more of a law and order kind of person. I don't want my car overturned and burned. I don't want stores in my neighborhood looted and burned. I don't want the police to have to deploy in riot gear and fire tear gas at people to stop them from rioting. I guess this crowd isn't for me. I wonder if we will see the same behavior at the RNC.

It's a shame they chose not to express their view in a mature and adult manner, they might actually sway someone who is on the fence.

Oh and to answer your question, you'll see the exact same crowd at the RNC - same people, same lack of message. Radical chic doesn't discriminate when it comes to their target.

Actually it sounded to me as if they were expressing their views. Quite vociferously.

It's obvious this "crowd" is not for you. That's not the problem. The problem is, that you didn't even recognize that they had a view, and voiced it.

Fox viewers are the blindfolded being led by the blind.

My new favorite saying...

All I'm saying is that as long as there are suckers, there will be scammers to feed off of them.
You may as well blame Fox News for dogs licking their nuts.
Until you give them something better to do, why should they stop?

Wow. I like how Jenkins asserts that the protesters "don't believe in freedom of speech" just because they are choosing not to talk to him. That's classic.

To Fox So-Called "News", freedom of speech means nothing more than the freedom to use our airwaves to provide us with misinformation and shameless partisan propaganda, the freedom to sell us ever more crap we don't need, and the freedom to imply we are less than patriotic Americans when we dare to protest.

I daresay the ONLY reason this aired at all was because it was live. Something tells me it will not get played ad infinitum ad nauseum as is most of their "news" footage. So.....I'm passing this priceless clip along via the Internet to everyone I know who has two brain cells to rub together.

It just about says it all regarding Fox Non-News and media bias, doesn't it?

It is about time we apoke out against smear organizations like Faux News and their minions.
The glare of spotlights on them will expose their rotting insides.

Sounds good, but about half of us seem to be just like him or worse.

Now, as far as that glare goes: All they'll do is put on sun glasses and keep on getting up. Stupidity is tenacious and seems to feed on itself, and is the very reason that we are going down the tubes.

They'll want to blame the "Libs", but Bush and his facilitators are damn sure not Liberals.

It said Griff Jenkins of Fox News.
He was the one that actually went into the crowd to provoke a reaction.

Wow!

This is your new kind of politics?

This is your holier than thou we're better than you stance?

Somewhere, the founding fathers, FDR, and JFK are weeping at what they have wrought in these leftist loons.

"This is your new kind of politics?"

Why are you using an Obama campaign tagline to attack a group of people that have nothing to do with his campaign?

You didn't say anything directly, but the implication is clear and it's entirely inappropriate.

First of all, many of the protesters don’t identify with or consider themselves “Democrats”. They believe the Democratic Party is just a “kinder, gentler” version of the Repugnants.

Also, go wiki your history—these protesters are like nursery school children compared to the violent anti-war protests during the 1960’s.

"Somewhere, the founding fathers, FDR, and JFK are weeping at what they have wrought in these leftist loons."

It's really ignorant to somehow state that this is somehow an outcome of the policies and acts of FDR and JFK. "What they have wrought"? Please. The founding fathers somehow caused "leftist loons"?

It's even a stretch to call these people "leftists". Every segment of society has fringe groups. To say that these people are somehow representative of anything but themselves is truly ignorant. These people don't even seem cohesive enough to be called "leftists". FAUX News and its pathetic attempts to spin make me want to puke.

Huh? These people were part of the Green party, protesting against going to war.
I'm sure FDR and JFK are proud that these people are out there marching against what they perceive to be a wrong, not whether or not these people spoke to a right wing tool.
What I'm certian they would be weeping about is the Faux News Network, the biggest propogation tool of the war hungry right wing neo-cons.

Given their modus operandi, I'm surpised that a Fake News "reporter" didn't jump into the pool at the Olympics during Phelps' race for his eighth gold medal and start yapping questions at him like a noisy chihuahua about his chance of winning,
