McCain Himself Uses POW Experience To Defend Houses

Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) told CBS News' Katie Couric on Saturday that Sen. Joe Biden (D-Del.) is a "formidable" but "wise" choice for the Democratic ticket.

Couric asked about McCain's answer when Politico inquired about the number of homes he and his wife, Cindy, own. McCain referred the question to his staff, who said he had at least four. Records show the number could be twice that, depending on how you count the family's properties.

"I am grateful for the fact that I have a wonderful life," McCain said. "I spent some years without a kitchen table, without a chair, and I know what it's like to be blessed by the opportunities of this great nation. Cindy's father, who barely finished high school, went off and distinguished himself in World War II in a B-17 and came back with practically nothing and realized the American dream, and I am proud and grateful for that, and I think he is a role model to many young Americans who serve in the military and come back and succeed.

I think EVERYBODY needs to stop starting any kind of criticism of McCain by saying, "He's a war hero who served is country honorably." That's history. We should be able to critiize w/o having to jusitfiy it. It was fine though when the destroyed Kerry.,,,,the a-holes. McCain should not be allowed to use the POW crutch to get out of answering or being accountable for his enormous gaps, mispeaks and misteps.
Then again, if the Rightwing media is catching on to this, perhap that;s telling. If he continues perhaps he'll bury himself and make the ol' POW story so stale that nobody will give a rip anymore.

Here's my question, if McCain relates everything back to his time as a POW, what does that say about his mental state? If he's basing his whole life off of that time period, where he admits to being mentally broken, who's really making the decisions? Him or his interrogators?
