Ninjas

The Associated Press reports:

CLIFTON, N.J. -- Police arrested two men dressed like ninjas and armed with Asian martial arts weapons who said they were delivering warning letters to drug dealers and users.

Calling themselves "Shinobi warriors," the men carried knives, throwing stars, swords, nunchucks and a bow and arrows.

Tadeusz Tertkiewicz, 20, and Jesse Trojaniak, 19, were each charged with weapons possession. Tertkiewicz is also charged with harassment for a letter left for an ex-girlfriend.

The letters warned drug users and drug dealers that the "Shinobi will stop your cruel and sadistic intentions with justified yet, merciful force."

In the letter, the two men accused drug dealers and users of having "committed sin of passing impurity" to others and that the "wind guides us to those of impure heart and intent."

"Their intentions may have been good, but we tell everyone that they shouldn't take the law into their own hands because it will cause more problems for everyone in the long run," Detective Capt. Robert Rowan said.

If they wanted to frighten drug dealers, they should have dressed as lawyers.

I'm so disappointed. A Ninja Team taking out drug dealers in Jersey how cool would that be? But no, just kids in Ninja outfits and some weapons bought in Chinatown.

Stop teasing me Huff Post with these enticing headlines!

My point being that these plural of ninja (P.O.N. ;-) will be L.E.O. in a couple of years. They certainly fit the profile.

A couple of wannabes who have now been identified on local news programs.
These chumps will be the laughing stock of Clifton, NJ.

Good.

Why pillory these guys?

Sure, dressing up as ninjas is a tad, well, juvenile, but they wanted to do something about drug dealers. If only we held the same disdain for the truly hazardous criminals.

Sick them on Rumsfeld, Cheney, Kristol, Kagan, Friedman, Wolfowitz, Perle, Libby, Lieberman and other cooks who think invading Iraq is good and invading Iran is better.

Busting these fools would be a good start, if the momentum carried over to "the drug war"--whose primary function in its present form is to provide jobs and whose negative effects are tragic and disastrous. Stop those thousands of law-enforcement-industry workers harassing citizens who just want a toke now and then. Their work has no effect on anything except the price.

nice, but street drug prices have been stable if not less (adjusted for inflation)
since the Nancy RAYGUN era.

Weren't these the same guys who were on cnn or some other news outlet a month or two ago?? I'm pretty sure I saw this on CNN a while back. And where is the NRA on this? It's not illegal, as the 2nd Amendment points out, to possess weapons. And while the RIFLE association attacks anyone trying to legislate non-Rifle issues, I think it's only fair that the NRA defend these guys too.

And of course, we can't have people turning in drug dealers now can we? They are a more protected species than polar bears. And plus, it might expose the complicity that cops at every level, along with the FBI and Fed Govt, in ensuring that the drug trade flourishes. I mean, really, if the govt and police wanted to easily win the war on terror, they'd arrest the drug dealers and leave the drug users alone. But instead, t hey only arrest the drug users, and let the drug dealers roam free. It's better "business" that way.
