Republicans Jump On Obama "Freudian Slip"

Mere minutes after Joe Biden wrapped up his maiden speech as Barack Obama's running mate, McCain's camp and the RNC gleefully seized upon what they called a "Freudian slip" in Obama's introduction.

After almost doing it earlier in his speech, Obama got caught up in his closing crescendo and predicted that it's Biden who would be "the next president of the United States."

"Barack Obama sounded as though he turned over the top spot on the ticket today to his new mentor, when he introduced Joe Biden as the next president," McCain spokesman Ben Porritt quipped in an insta-statement.

He did not say, as quoted in the lead;

After the word President he said VP, and as for factual, Biden as VP will also be President, President if the Senate. So suck on that MSM.

The Republicans' mockery of Democrats is reaching a fever pitch now, on cable and talk radio. It's non stop. Evidently this is going to be the tactic for the Repubs to weasel into office--not by defending their own failed policies, but by constantly attacking the personal style and character of the Democrats. If they keep it up continuously enough, maybe the voters will forget how they are SO NOT better off than 8 yrs ago.

It really wasn't a freudian slip. I will bet Obama has been watching tapes of Biden's appearances during his primary events and each time, Biden was introduced, as the next President of the United States. The mind is very smart, it locks in on those kind of rote messages and when Obama found himself repeating what he had been seeing in those videos, i an ntroduction of Biden, he just clicked into the other script and said President. People do it all the time.

McCain would have said it (or something far worse) and if no one was there to whisper in his ear, a campaign spokesperson would have come out later to say "John McCain does not speak for the campaign; he did not hear the question and remember he was a POW so he is entitled. to do anything".

Maybe, as I do, Obama realizes that Biden should have been the Democratic Presidential candidate all along. Maybe after he mulls it over, Obama will concede that Biden has the experience that he lacks. Doesn't Obama want what is best for the Country? Maybe he truly knows that what he told Tim Russert on January 22, 2006 on "Meet the Press" should have been his destiny.
