Cindy McCain Going To Georgia

It's not every aspiring First Lady whose comfort zone is a war zone, but such is the case for Cindy McCain, who left Monday on a mission to Georgia to assess the civilian casualties caused by the Russian invasion.

McCain is traveling with the U.N.'s World Food Program, whose work she monitored in Southeast Asia and Africa this spring and summer. McCain planned to meet with Georgian President Mikheil Sakaasvili, and to visit with wounded Georgian soldiers. She would also visit representatives of the HALO Trust, which works to remove landmines and on whose board she serves.

Cindy and John McCain visited Georgia together last year; in an interview with TIME at her Sedona ranch before she left, she emphasized that her years of work on overseas missions was "an important part of what I'm about, what makes me tick."

So I suppose the advisor/lobbyist for Georgia the country has been working Mac again to send the wife and her thousands of dollars worth of clothes to go see the little people. I know there are a lot of people who spread their wealth to those in need but I have not seen this part of the Mccain's way. So sending CIndy and her designer clothes for photo ops seems a bit off as far as I see it. No doubt the advisor/lobbyist for Georgia will set up the best tragic locations for her to get her picture taken at. Mrs Millions Mccain doesn't represent the country or any organization which does care for those shattered by war so all I see is just another photo op for a potenial ad about her caring about someone other than herself? Phoney is as phoney does and Ihope the stupid is shows thorugh on this. Pimping out his wife must not be new for him.

I really hope this doesn't become common practice. Active war zones are no place for a photo op. Treating them as such is disrespectful to the men and women in uniform engaged in battle and to the civilian victims who have no choice to swoop in and out of these dangerous locations.
