In a bid to party behind enemy lines, tonight the Republican National Committee is trying to woo Clinton delegates with a "Happy Hour for Hillary" reception.

The RNC announced it is picking up the tab the Paramount Cafe, a few blocks from the Democrats' convention center, so that "open-minded Democrats" may consider backing John McCain. Hillary Clinton, however, is having none of it.

"This party won't exactly make it onto the list of recommended events for Hillary Clinton's supporters," Mo Elleithee told The Nation on Monday afternoon. "Senator Clinton supports Senator Obama and is urging all of her supporters to do the same," he added.

They should make an announcement at the Convention about this event. Send the thousands there to eat and drink to their heart's content on the GOP's dime. Now that would be the best way to handle this. Swamp the place with Obama T-shirts. Drink only top shelf

It's really too late for Hillary to pull this back. The time for that was when she started her negative campaign. People warned her to stop but she wouldn't. She also had another opportunity to derail all of this after it was clear that she was not going to be the Democratic Nominee. Sadly she created this monster and sadly it's too late to stop it. We just have to counter it with positivity. Let them continue to be bitter and petty. That bitterness will shorten your lifespan. Tomorrow is not always promised - remember Stephanie Tubbs-Jones - she was supposed to be at this convention.

This campaign has shown who is a true friend of US. If there are those who want to come out of the closet to go back to their party GOP, so be it. I hate to go along with closet repubs in my party. It is change time and change wont stop at just Washinton, the party too. Too many closet repubs in the party.

Do any of the Hillaryites know that the original PUMA organization was started as Republician organization??? Do you know that Darragh Murphy who registered the Puma organization gave $500 to John McCain before Hillary lost in the primaries? Don't they know they've been completely and utterly duped by the Republican dirty tricks department, like no other?

Let's hope she includes this same message loud and clear to her idiot "supporters" and the RNC. That she is NOT a pawn in their game plan to destroy our party. Everyone's talking about what Obama needs to say but failing to point out what she needs to say and make clear to McCain and every Republican whom has now made her disaster of a campaign a tool against Obama.

Unlike her child-man husband, Hillary is a political pro who knows that ultimately she has everything to lose by undermining Obama.

She'd probably do herself a favor by divorcing him after November.

If she'd have cut her husband and his dangerous entourage loose, I might have championed her for VP. I'm convinced he's the reason she didn't concede once it was clear her path to winning was remote. He's the one that should be paying off her debt.

I agree, I think she would do better by herself. If she leaves Bill and runs in 2016, I might give her a second look. She would also have to change her tactics.

I must admit I struggle to stomach the way politics is now played. Bill Clinton was the best President this country had in over 40 years. This did not stop the unrelenting attacks on him and his wife by the VR-WC. Hillary has had to put up with this stuff for 16 years!!!

She was then vilified by many in her own party for daring to campaign against the Sainted One during the primaries. Newsflash!!! It WAS A CAMPAIGN!!!

Now, they are pre-emptively blaming her if the Sainted One manages to lose the unloseable election!!

Obama supporters constantly refer to her hatemongering, subtle racism and vicious campaigning, without ever providing examples. This is just a white-wash against Hillary.

Obama has fuelled such fanatasicm in his supporters that all logic, reasoning and judgement has flown out the door. Despite 18 million supporters, the Democratic Party does not deserve Hillary Clinton.

She is too good for the likes of you.

There was nothing subtle about the Clintons' race-baiting. We all agree that he was a great president. No one started out to make this an anti-Clinton race. They had a bad staff, made bad decisions, went negative, and racial. As an African American, surely you or no one else expect us to just except the racial attacks, and the praise of McCain at the expense of demeaning Obama. We all know that "you cannot fix what you do not acknowledge." The Clintons or their supporters have not admitted the errors taht were made, rather than to except the responsility for their bad choices, they chose to blame Obama and his supporters. Humble is the way, and if the Clintons' pride is greater than their humility, then they have chosen to leave a tarnished legacy that covers all the good that they have done in the past. We will miss the Clintons as we knew them back in the day. Obama-Biden 08!

""She is too good for the likes of you.""

If it means they'll go away forever, I'm sure many O'bama supporters would sign that statement.

Women should know: John McCain voted AGAINST equal pay. John McCain wants to begin the DRAFT ....

It's MUCH bigger than McCain wanting to overturn Roe v. Wade

Don't forget all of the charmful terms of endearment he has for his wife, and that his supporters have for H'illary C'linton, particularly when inquiring about how to defeat her...

I agree and I would drive it home. His blatant disregard for a woman's worth, and his desire to take your sons, and possibly daughters to war.

Great point.

clinton=lieberman-
the 'pumas' are willing to take away a woman's right to choose, because they have been dissed?
I really don't care about republicans, even when they were formerly democrats.

bill clinton sent jobs overseas,
Obama chose to help those abandoned workers.

THAT is what this election is about.
A basic difference in commitment to the people, vs. personal aggrandizement.

No doubt about it. She and she alone will be the blame and for her NY Senate seat or her atempt in 2012 the new letters will be PIAB (Payback Is A B---h) or PFTB (Payback For The B---h). Enough of her and her husband!

I've never seen anything like this. Hillary, Bill and what's left of the passengers on the "Clinton Express" are driving around the countryside wheels worn out and just about out of gas. Everyone's watching as they sadly grind along in that bus...none of them knowing how to stop it or get off. They've left the road now, that bus puttering, scraping, smoking...on closer observation no one's driving...
