Happyhour

The Nation:

In a bid to party behind enemy lines, tonight the Republican National Committee is trying to woo Clinton delegates with a "Happy Hour for Hillary" reception.

The RNC announced it is picking up the tab the Paramount Cafe, a few blocks from the Democrats' convention center, so that "open-minded Democrats" may consider backing John McCain. Hillary Clinton, however, is having none of it.

"This party won't exactly make it onto the list of recommended events for Hillary Clinton's supporters," Mo Elleithee told The Nation on Monday afternoon. "Senator Clinton supports Senator Obama and is urging all of her supporters to do the same," he added.

Next, she will end up on McCain's ticket because her PUMAs just demanded it.

Her lips may tell him no no, but there's yes yes in her eyes.

I guess McBush is unable to energize his base, oh well, he can always unsuccessfully try to woo the Democratic women by promising to appoint the most conservative judge to the Supreme Court to strip away their rights- He is used to exploiting women in his life.

I read Billy Boy is going to have a five second delay when he gives his speech. Howard Dean says if he goes off subject they reserve the right to pull the plug. This is bad, Billy Boy is worrying people.

That was an article on this site. Read that article again. It was satire, it's written by a comedian. There will be no delay for Bill Clinton.

It was a joke. But really, it may well be true.

But they aren't to say so if it is. They'll just do it.

Do you remember all those months when the DNC and all the rest of the Democratic Party worried that Hillary was egging on her women long, long after there was no reasonable chance of winning? Do you remember that we were all worried that she was creating a situation that would tear the party apart, but she promised again and again that that would never happen. She swore that her voters would support the eventual nominee but that she was going to go the whole way. If you look at the totals at the end of each and every day of primaries and caucuses, there was not one single day that, beginning with Iowa, that Hillary was ever, ever ahead in pledged delegates. She had no chance. She was hoping to turn the super delegates to vote against the will of the people, but that was never reasonable. She was never ahead in the pledged delegates, but she had to win so badly that she created this situation. This is a real shame.

Chuck Todd just said today that Hillary supporters believed she had a 50% chance of winning up until May 5. But in actuality she only had a slim chance --of 10%, that the contest was "done on February 19". Duh! All Obama supporters knew that. (Of course, Chuck and all MSM were responsible for the illusion that she had a chance to win, in an effort to keep the primaries in the news). And I suppose it was, in the long run, good for dems and Obama.

However, Hillary could have quit spending money a lot sooner because SHE knew it was over. Instead she flitted from "group" to group and "cause" to cause in an effort to find one to champion and in the process she divided the various groups in the party.

The PUMAs that now so passionately support Hillary weren't even a twinkle in her eye on February 19!

McCain will be 72 years old this Friday and his policies are the same policies as Bush. Do you want 4 more years of the same old policies that have our country in the mess that it is in now?

McCain is for NAFTA, and Obama is against NAFTA. Barack Obama will keep jobs in our country and he will fight for the rights of American workers.

McCain owns 7 houses and he will give tax breaks only to the richest of Americans who make over 200,000 per year. Barack Obama will give tax breaks to the middle class and the poor.

Will McCain have a military draft if he is elected President? He can't have a 100 year war without a military draft.

The Republicans are the party of the rich and the rich oil companies. The Democrats are the party of the people. Get to the polls in November and vote for Barack Obama and lets get a win for the people!

VOTE FOR BARACK OBAMA AND LETS GET A DEMOCRAT WIN IN NOVEMBER!

I think the entire convention should go and run-up the tap as high as possible. Have a few drinks on the RNC and then leave - good way to waste their money.

Can the Hill bashing please stop? The RNC is trying to capitalize off the rift in the party. Hillary is not encouraging her supporters to attend this gimmick gathering, she is campaigning for B arack and has said she did not approve their ad message. She's doing her part. Us continuing to fight about it IS WHAT THE REPUBS WANT! They're feeding off of it. Unite and make them starve!

It's like having to break up unruly children taunting one another...both sides need to stop this petty garbage NOW...it is not helpful...the Repubs have been trying to drive a wedge in the party, and the media have been more than happy to help, reinforcing the slightest resentments and egging on Hillary's supporters to defect and to rile them up. Obama's supporters have been too ready to take the bait, and it is only going to hurt the party's chances in November.

Can the die hard Hillary supporters understand how sick at heart the rest of the party is? Our kids and husbands are dying and getting their legs blown off. Our families are losing our homes and we can't find work. Food is so expensive that there's no money for school clothes. We're suffering. And this mess was avoidable. How do you think we all feel? Everything has been focused on how Mr. and Mrs. Clinton feel and on how her supporters feel who won't quit all this. But you're hurting America and you're hurting Americans. A lot of Americans and you don't seem to care about what will happen if McCain wins instead of Obama. It is hard to understand how women----mothers, grandmothers, sisters, aunts, cousins----how women could care so little for the suffering they are bringing down on America. How do you think we feel? It seems there is no suffering that would be too much. When the Hillary supporters who won't stop get together, do they ever consider the people who will die or go hungry or not have a home because of their actions? Do they care?

Perhaps Hillary should just withdraw her name. I don't know how much it will help now. It would have helped a lot after Super Tuesday.

We all knew she was a lightweight, and an aged one at that. Were it mere years ago, she'd have been the first one there.

I bet those 30 or 40 PUM@s that showed up for the convention are PO'd that they spent their bankrolls on Denver.....when they could have been wined and dined in St. Paul.

The problem with the RNC strategy is that Hillary supporters are not the DUMBA$$ES that McCain supporters are. Man, Republicans are so pathetic.
