DENVER -- Barack Obama on Monday disavowed a racially charged dispute involving his political mentor, Illinois Senate President Emil Jones, as Jones issued a quasi-apology to the Hillary Clinton supporter he allegedly called an "Uncle Tom."

"We don't have time for that kind of stuff," Obama told a reporter who asked him about the flap at the Quad Cities Airport in Moline, Ill. "What we need to do is focus on unifying the party to win in November, and that's what I intend to do."

Just hours before Jones received a last-minute, pre-prime-time speaking role at the Democratic National Convention, he expressed regret to Chicago political consultant Delmarie Cobb for insulting her -- after insisting earlier in the day he had no reason to apologize to her.

Why aren't the Clinton-supporters calling for her to step aside. Hillary's campaign
motto was built on fear.. Hillary did more
to divide this Party and races single handed than any one I know. Her clarion cry
was to make sure White Woman are Afraid of BLACK MEN. Why didn't
Jones cry foul when she read Hillary's memos., and these remarks are in them She said nothing to defend her
own race against a divisive White woman. However he should not have called her
a Uncle Tom, he should have called her a Aunty Tom! because that is what she is LOL

They know each other; why didn't Grabenhofer try to work it out with Jones? And why is this sexist? Just because Sen. Clinton is a woman? Does that make her disagreement racist? When did Sen. Clinton's campaign become all about women's issues? This makes no sense.

So there you go. If the sore losers had not pushed everyone so far, this type of thing would have never happened. They would be celebrating, not arguing.

Sad that the discourse has to deteriorate to this level.
