ABC News:

In a web video, the Republican Party of Texas hits back Sen. Barack Obama, D-Ill., on the "housing" issue in a web video that attacks the Democrat because his half-brother George lives in a shack outside Nairobi, Kenya.

"Barack Obama has viciously attacked John McCain and his family for being successful and living the American dream," says the ad's narrator.

...

"...but ask yourself this: If Obama cares so much about your family why doesn't he doesn't take care of his own family first. Barack Obama lives in this house..." (image of Obama's house)

"...wants to live in this one..." (image of White House)

"...while his own brother lives in this one." (image of Obama's half brother George.)

Ok, now they have opened a new line of attack. It's time for the Democrats to be hitting the Mc'Cains for the fact that Cindy's sister is destitute and the fact that she doesn't even acknowledge the fact that she has a sister.

I think this is a strong attack on Obama's credibility.

How?

He is a man. I thought when you are an adult you make your own decisions?

SO it's Obama's fault that his brother made bad decisions?

Obama is American from my understanding he has several brothers and sisters on his father side why don't they help him?

Non issue.

Yes, because it's Obamas fault that this guy estranged himself from his family. His own mother doesn't know where he lives.

That's all the GOP has - attacks. No plan to get us out of this economic mess except letting the super-rich get away with not paying as much tax as the rest of us.

i read a different article about his brother where he states that he made some bad choices along the way and is going back to a trade school. he was inspired by his big brother Obama, to do so. soooo... maybe just maybe his mistakes placed him there, just maybe we all have a relative in our families that you can only help so far and you have to acknowledge that this is their life and thier choices. I think mccain is draining the water from the sink and after the convention he's tossing it. i don't think this one is going to stick.

most of Kenya is Muslim as well as many countries in Africa. Not all Muslim nations are war torn nor are all Muslim Middle Eastern decent; every color in the rainbow just like Christians, Jews are diverse too. It is media simplification that pushes the stereotype.

If Exxon John cares so much then why did he abandon his wife and children for the rich tart that had been his mistress?

Oh right, sorry, I forgot he was a POW.

Tell us, Sen. McCain...

Are THESE CHILDREN poor enough for you to count?

Right here in America, there are millions of Children under age 18 for whom poverty has been “determined”- the staggering number being 70,925,261 children.
This figure excludes all those children living in group facilities or institutions that were not added into the “determined” poverty number.

Of the 70 million U.S. children “determined” in the poverty number, 11,746,858 children are living below the poverty “rate”.

ARE THESE CHILDREN POOR ENOUGH FOR YOU TO CONSIDER, SEN. MCCAIN?

I don't see any members of the GOP offering to help out Obama's brother, either, so what makes it okay for them to question the assistance to a half-sibling living in a foreign country?

Besides, how are Cindy's half-sisters doing in comparison to her?

What's good for the goose is good for the gander....

But it brings up a fair question to ask Obama - why did not he help his poor bother? Maybe he did, and maybe this is not an issue. Oabam's campaign can easily clear it up by providing an explanation.

An explanation has already been provided. Pay attention, and don't expect all the answers to be spoon-fed to you.

Imagine... John McCain had to send his pitbulls to travel to Africa in order to make a mockery of the culture and life of Sen. Obama's half-brother, so that McCain could suggest something disingenuous about Sen. Obama.

Where is McCain's concern for integrity involving the stolen drugs his wife arranged for on American soil, or the misappropriations of charitable funds surrounding the drugs purchased to help impoverished nations, that were instead used by his wife?
Was Cindy impoverished at the time those drugs were stolen, Sen. McCain?
How about the back-room Keating five scandelous deals made on American soil that ultimately made innocent Americans victims of scandelous conduct, where Americans end up paying the price for internal corporate greed? Is that a concern for Sen. McCain?

Where does integrity begin, Sen McCain?

What about these children, Sen. McCain? What about AMERICA'S CHILDREN?
Did you forget about these children when your team was busy inventing dishonest misrepresentations about Sen. Obama?

U.S. Children without health insurance:

California 1,221,000
Florida 695,000
Arizona 256,000
New York 346,000
Texas 1,308,000

1,566,039 U.S. children are high school dropouts;
14,746,918 U.S. children live in high poverty neighborhoods.

Do you think there are correlations between children living in high poverty neighborhoods where 20% of the residents live in poverty, and the ability of our children to attend school and be successfu, Sen. McCain?

But you needed to trek to Africa to mock the poverty there, while you ignore the children right here?

For anyone who wants to know who the "real" John Mc'Cain is, read this article:

http://phoenixnewtimes.com/content/printVersion/848709 (this is the print version, easier to read without all the ads, just close the "print" window).

Once you read this lengthy article, you will know who the real John Mc'Cain is. The woman who wrote the article is a journalist from Arizona. She has been following Mc'Cain since he first moved to Arizona to run for public office. She takes you through the Keating Five scandal and then through Mc'Cain's metamorphosis into a "maverick", all done to rehabilitate his image. The article also takes you through Cindy Mc'Cain's stealing drugs from her non-profit. Send this article to every conservative you know.

We really do need to educate the public about the real John Mc'Cain, because the MSM surely isn't going to do it.

Hmmm, what about Cindy McCain's sister that lives right here in America?

Someone received 100 million, while the other 10k.
Someone also denies she even has a sister.
Someone dumped his wife after being released from POW summer camp.

Hmmm, McCains are turds.

The GOP is dispicable. Ridiculous spending on stupid adds that say nothing about what he will do as President. All he does is attack Obama instead of talking about anything that is important. McCAIN is opening the flood gates out of desparation. He better be ready for the blow back because it will stun him. He won't be able to hide behind his POW status.

Btw, the other POWS that were with him, why are we not talking about them? They are heroes too.

Yeah and for sure, too often the high road in response to the trash from the low roaders is hard to NOT strike back with in kind..(lol, Bush family has many skeletons but got free passes and McC, he has escpaed as well as with his wife cindy the brutal attemptings...Will say the Dems have more "class" but have faultings too , seem to attempt to the premise "do unto to others as WISHED would have done unto them" and that does NOT work out to well when so many of the general population accept rumor and innuendo and so much out of full context and accept as fact/etc. Perhaps it IS time to return IN KIND and with same spirit..Dems too often simply attempt to turn other cheek and get whalloped as past elections have shown. THink this is why there remains some admiration for the Clintons, they have no problem taking of the gloves or slinging back in kind and are relentless in doing so as learned early on that persisted such efforts finally wers down and out the opponent !!)

With the many critical issues that are of concern to Americans, and that the Republicans profess to be more capable of addressing than the Democrats, why don't they ever talk about them? Why do they instead choose to focus on celebrities and Hillary's supporters ... and a "half" brother, across the globe whom Senator Obama has met once in his life time and who has about as much connection to Senator Obama as any of us do? Is it because they know that on the issues of war and economy and taking the country in a new direction, they are already defeated? Or because they recognize that John McCain's scripted talking points are becoming a bit hackneyed and stale, so they wallow in the mud of obscurity to find anything that might distract us from the truth about McCain and the failing policies he represents.

I also find it interesting that they never seem inclined to target Senator Obama's many white or otherwise racially mixed family members, except of course for his "typical white grandmother," whom they themselves have disparaged through their distortion of Senator Obama's intent when he spoke of her. I guess his other family members are simply not dark enough or African enough to incite fear among the electorate, which suggests as much about some of the electorate as it does about the Republican Party itself.

The Republican Party is frightened and desperate, and as happens when fear and desperation collide, their true colors begin to show.

You're 100% correct that the Republican spend little time on the issues and more time on distractions due to their desperation.

The Republicans are selling "stupid" and I hope for once people aren't buying.

Stillrise-- You took the words right off my keyboard!!

I've yet to see an ad from the rethuglicans discussing Mcsame's ideas for a better America. Or, better yet, I've not seen an ad that shows any differences between bush and Mcsame. After all, in this election when so much is at stake, ideas SHOULD BE at a premium, right?

Instead, we have gotten lies that have included Brittany, Rezko, or Ayers from Mcsame. Obama used the "Houses" ad to show how out of touch with reality Mcsame has become. What is the reply from Mcsame, more lies. I've no issue with a hard fought campaign, no, not in the least. I have a major issue with lies.

When will the average repuglican finally catch on that IF the Mcbush campaign feels the need to lie and obsfiscate in order to win, then their candidate is not ethical, nor is he worth their vote. Hasn't this nation suffered enough under the current unethical, lying, win-at-any-cost bush leadership? We deserve something better, we deserve Obama.

What an excellent summation of what is taking place.

Imagine if John McCain had to actually focus on WHAT is taking place ALL ACROSS AMERICA, under his party's watch, and the conditions that AMERICA'S CHILDREN LIVE IN...all across AMERICA.

70,925,261 American children are "determined" to be living in poverty. (The number does not include all those impoverished children living in institutions, and group facilities, or under other non-countable circumstances).

Millions of American children are so poor, they have no health insurance.
Arizona has 256,000 uninsured children ( previous US Census bureau).
Texas has 1,308,000 children who are uninsured.

Over one MILLION American children are high school drop outs.
1,566,039 U.S. children are high school dropouts.
