I Like ItI Don’t Like It
Matthew Puma

Because today is Catharsis Day at the convention, we figured we better do like Aristotle says in the Poetics and hit you with a double dose of pity and fear so you can purge both your raw, untamed emotion and your hope that life in America will ever get better for anybody. So, to that end, here's a video of Chris Matthews talking to a trio of PUMAs -- women who love Hillary Clinton whilst simultaneously hating the policies for which Clinton has fought. They are the total hot mess of the Democratic Convention.

Watch as they level bizarre accusations at Barack Obama (RELATED: "CNN debunks false report about Obama"), and then refuse to accurately cite the source of their claims. Maybe it was Lanny Davis or something! See, I don't know, and neither do they, but I can tell you, if I had tried to apply the same sort of "reasoning" in college, my professors would have knocked me unconscious and tossed me in a ditch, far from town.

Anyway, if possible, you should burn your computer after watching this. That is all.

I find it very hard to believe that these women are Democrats or that they really supported Hillary. They were outside the convention, so they didn't need any Dem bona fides to stand where they were, so they were probably Dem haters who went there to torpedo the Dems.

Re the one who talked the most, she seemed like Ann Coulter in an especially foul mood and with a few too many drinks in her - what an awful display.

Are Puma related to "cougar women"? Clinton is no longer running for president, what's the point???

Wow. I really do wish I could burn my computer. That was so painful...I can't really describe it. These people honestly confuse the crap out of me. I absolutely fail to follow their "logic", even hypothetically. Of course, they don't deal in hypotheticals, because hypotheticals are stupid...stupid and dumb...and....stupid.

I went to a small private Catholic University in Ohio and, while I'm Christian, I'm about as far from Catholic as one can get. The decision I made (on my own, as a young adult) didn't mean I was a Marianist, nor did it mean I would become one. I simply meant I went to a fantastic institution of higher learning where my experiences, personal horizons and understanding of and for other people would be expanded.

Call the school Barack Obama went to as a child what you want. I have to believe his mother wanted him wherever she sent him to get the full experience of life and to understand other people from their perspective. I fully believe that his relationship with his mother, grandparents and his varied experiences brought him to be full of understanding, respect, empathy and fire. It wouldn't matter one bit to me if Obama were Muslim because I know in my heart that Muslims aren't a bad people. Every faith has to be about love first. A faith that is about hate and exclusion isn't a positive, life-giving force.

My Lord, Jesus Christ, asked me to have compassion and so, I accept our differences. I learn from them as well. Also, Christ, is another man they called everything but a child of God, which is exactly what He is! So, forget the PUMAs. They'll find out they were wrong when Obama's elected president. His plans are for everyone and even they will benefit.

I love their logic. The woman in sunglasses says, "we didn't like how the democratic process played out during the primaries and we want our party back." So what does she and her PUMA girlfriends do? They vote for the other party who opposes every damn thing their candidate, HRC, stands for. Brilliant, absolutely brilliant! LOL.

Exactly my thoughts!

First of all, Hillary and McCain aren't so far apart on some things, particularly their self-aggrandizement and love of power.
Second, not liking how the democratic process plays out is part of being in a democracy. But we know Repugs don't like democracy, don't we?

So the Republicans have gained a few more infantile rednecks to add to their ranks. Big deal.

It is a big deal. There are 18 million of these morons who want to take their ball and go home. Add that to the idiots who don't realize how much they've been ass reamed by their own party and want four more years of the same and we're in deep trouble.

I feel sorry for "people like her", she sounded so stupid! "I'm not gonna tell you!" How childish, you could tell she was lying!

Y'all are aware that these women are not Democrats, right? They're Republicans sent by Rove to the Dem convention as political theater. This is the oldest trick in the book.

It's the Ann Coulter effect. One person gets attention and makes money by being stupid, and everyone thinks they can copy her.

I like Chris Mathews. Keep up the good work, but be careful to separate your editorialising and your reporting.

Democrats for a complete reversal of forty years hard won women's rights! That is so believable, not.

I'm really sad for those women. They think Islam's a terrible thing (as if Christianity and Catholicism are historically better) and they believe that Billary's qualified because she shares (Ha!) a bed with a former president.

Doesn't this tell you that our schools are failing? And these women must be well-kept women that they can afford to lose their reproductive rights and can afford to continue losing their rights to equal pay. A vote for McCain is a vote against women. Those mongrels are not women.
