A couple hundred Hillary Clinton supporters marched on the Democratic National Convention Tuesday afternoon, as promised. Mixed in with the chanting and drumming were several videographers and media types, including The Daily Show's John Oliver.

But while some of the marchers were members of the staunchly anti-Obama group known as PUMA -- for Party Unity My Ass -- others had hoped to honor the occasion of the 88th anniversary of women's suffrage in the United States.

Whitney Blair and Andrea Sedlmayr from Boulder, Colorado both lamented what they saw as the "sour grapes" attitude and Hillary-centric tone of the march.

Clinton lost and did not get the consolation prize. Those are facts. Accept them and move on.

Senator Clinton did not have to make that speech last night. She could have mumbled through a few words of lukewarm congratulations, uttered a few cliches, and left the podium to wait for 2012 or 2016. Instead, she is determined that the Democratic Party not repeat the mistakes of 1968 and 1980, when holdouts from the losing side sulked in their tents and allowed two horrible presidents -- Nixon and Reagan -- to slither into office.

Everyone in the party, "winners" and "losers" alike, should follow her shining example last night. To do anything less is to consent to a virtual third term for the worst president in U.S. history.

If you are a Clinton holdout, you need to bandage your bruised feelings as best you can and do everything you can to keep John McCain out of the White House. Anything less than a 100% effort dishonors Senator Clinton and raises questions about whether your support for her was ever genuine and whether you ever truly cared about or even understood what she really stands for

Basically, this is the MOST IMPORTANT message from madame Sen. Hillary Clinton's speech ...

IF You support her and She supports Sen. Barack Obama, then YOU have to definitely support Sen. Obama for President of the United States of America ...

YOU KNOW WHY ???

Because SHE (Clinton) considers Sen. Barack Obama to be MORE QUALIFIED to lead our COUNTRY into the FUTURE ...

She IS a wise woman and I am going to believe in her ...

Democrats '08 ... ( and beyond ) ...

0bama did the right thing, to defeat Hillary. Now it is McCain's turn to do the right thing.

I'm confused. I thought these were posts from Obama supporters. Is this a
McCain Forum? You do know, McCain is suffering from mild to moderate
dementia? How long is his party going to try to hide it from the media? A debate
between Obama and him should clinch it.

IF the Hillary of tonight was the "real" Hillary, instead of the "working, hard working Americans, White Americans" Hillary, then she would have been the nominee.

Right.
Tonight was great. She was real charming and warm and honest. (And a great speaker).
A pity she did not show this kind of sincere opening to others before.
If she had, Obama will have had consider her as VP.
I will vote for her next time if she keeps to be "this Hillary".

This has always been Hillary. You have to remember, when Bill was running for president
she made the famous "I'm not sitting at home baking cookies" because she was going to
have a part of health care reform of which the republicans criticized. "Are we voting for him, or her?" It was a big issue back then. Once again, the media ran with it over, and over again -
even with interviews of women stating "I'm at home baking", etc. The Republicans attempt
to turn the "housewife vote" off to the Clinton's. It did not work. Have to
remember the republicans have nothing to offer, so they try to pick at anything that
would deter from an Ozzie and Harriet family - remember Reagan had the kid with the
picket fence delivering the newspaper, but in reality it was really a college student in
a pick up truck that delivered my paper just to get by. The Republicans also love it
when democrats fight. And, especially when people of the party call each other names.
Do not fall for it. Take Hillary's que - she knows what she is talking about.

A real "feminist" candidate wouldn't be with the same man who has been cheating on her for years. Give me a break! Barack Obama with his wonderful wife and girls is more of a feminist than a "stand by your man" candidate.

You're going to hand this election to the Republicans with your foolishness. The same Republicans who didn't want you to have the right to vote and hopes you will just get back in the kitchen, have some babies and quit meddling in men's business.

Have you not been here the last 8 YEARS? We have to elect Barack Obama! If you don't see that then there is something mentally wrong with you.

1. Hillary has been fighting for a woman's rights her whole life - her private life is
her own and if you are an Obama supporter, you should treat her with the
same respect Obama and Michelle have come to appreciate.

2. No one is handing this election to Republicans - I believe a lot of PUMA members are really republicans, not democrats, at all. I believe the media is fueling this fire. Noticed after Hillary's speech, a CNN reporter asked a Hillary supporter three times if she was voting with McCain - when she clearly stated she was not voting for McCain.

3. I was in my twenties when Bill Clinton became president. The republicans had the same argument. He's young - who is he - Oh, he's only a governor from Arkansas. The best 8 years of American peace and prosperity in present history.

4. I'm not worried about Obama winning in November. There is something the present generation may not know about the Clintons - they always see the bigger picture and like Obama & Michelle, genuinely want to make America a better place.

5. Yes, I was one of those angry Hillary voters from Florida - seems everyone wants to
give our votes to someone other than who we voted for and it happens every presidential election. It doesn't matter now - we have only a little fish to fry - McCain.

6. What a speech tonight! All Democrats unite - don't fight. There is too

would not fit in but wanted to add:

If it had been between to male candidates the losing supporters wouldn't have been able to make it into even one line of the media - anywhere. It would be called what it is - sour grapes. Because it was a women - her supporters feel they are owed more. There should be some thought to the fact that there was even a woman in the running and with each election it will become more and more common to have women in top posts. History is made in steps and this was a big step. I'm a woman. A woman brings different things to the table. Different ways of thinking and ways of negotiation. Was Hillary the right woman? Who knows - maybe, maybe not. It is what it is. It's time now to focus on changing the things that matter to so many of us and put our energy there - not into something that isn't going to change. I believe that Obama is going to do his best to turn things around. I also believe that McCain will think of his own bottom line first and will embarrass us as a country when we need to re-establish our credibility.

Seriously, how can anyone ever take another woman candidate seriously if they continue to act like whiny b**T((es. Emotional wrecks.

Get over yourselfs. Take some Midol or whatever but get behind Obama and let's get the Republicans out of office.

Gotta agree with you on this one, and I'm a woman. The Midol comment was a bit much, but I do understand the gist of your comment.

I've been saying something similar since Hillary lost in June. Women supporters of Hillary simply cannot allow another Republican president. In fact, no supporters of Hillary can allow a Republican president. I really would rather they sat home than cast a vote for McCain.

How sad that people at the huffingtonpost seem hell bent on deriding Hillary supporters instead of reaching out to them to get them to support Obama or even have dialogue with a few to see what their thoughts are.

Not surprising considering the "oh-so-uniting" candidate they stand behind. Politics of hope and building bridges? You hypocrites are doing a fantastic job of building bridges. Brava! Obama and his ilk are truly setting the stage for a new America...the kind McCarthy would have loved.

A convention is about 2 things... build your canidate up and tearing down the other party. Not making those that lost feel good.

We are two days into this , and its still about Hillary and her supporters. The convention has been destroyed.. Say Hello to 4 more years of McBush...

Next week it will be a solid attack of one liners and untruths against DEMs around the clock.

The election has already been lost. I dont want to hear about Obama's primry campaign or heres.. BORING... Not important and yet here we go... more of the same..week after week.

Kiss Roe vs Wade goodbye and Healthcare. Mor e free trade, more jobs exported... more corptocracy and speculators.

How do you logicaly reach out to people who say they were for Hilary and talk about voting for McCain... Its so insane...

I agree with Viper. Sure, I'd love to tell the HRC supporters, "come on over". I KNOW I'd feel as disppointed and angry as you felt if Obama lost. However, I would hibernate, lick my wounds for a whil and hen finally try to move on. This is too important o an election to F-up.

Yet, for two freekin' days (not to mention months of ass kissing) it'll be Hillary and Bill and why?????? Because she lost. This s Obama's time not Hillary's. Try to see it from another angle. O's giving her and Bill 2 days, and the floor plus a chance for her supporters to vote so HRC won't feel left out and so the naysyers can have on record their vote. Let's move on. I

think the time would serve much better going after McCain. For these PUMAS anyway, there i absolutely nothing Obama or any of his supporters can do. There mind is made up and I say screw 'em. Let them go. By the numbers I see protesting and by news accounts and some diggin, it seems the Puma numbers are not as big as some of the media wants us to think. Anyway in my view, she blew it to ever be President gain. It'll be the current whiners that will support her, but I think her time is gone.

Plenty of people have reached out to these Hillary supporters ... Obama himself has for certain. And yet this nonsense goes on and on. Hillary lost in a fair contest between two candidates. While I'd love to have seen a woman running for President ... it simply wasn't meant to be at this time. So guess what? It's time to move on and if someone is a Democrat ... then it's time to support the candidate who won. Instead ... these Hillary supporters keep demanding attention ... are supposedly going to vote for McCain. I mean ... give me a break already. These people really do need to grow up. Are supporters of other candidates who were also running for the Democratic nomination still pulling this stuff? No!

You're sad that you care more about your candidate losing than party unity.

How can we bring you guys aboard? Hillary has asked you to support Obama, she says that Obama is who she is supporting. If she can't get you guys on board how in the world can we? It is evident that you would rather support McCain ( who stands for everything Hillary is against) Or you would rather not vote which is still a vote for McCain. And if you choose either of the fore mention your work and desire for all the issues that Hillary represents was of waste time to begin with.

Behind all of this insanity coming from Hillary supporters is the "last straw." We've have your children, keep our mouths shut abou your infidelity, take your abuse and still maintain a picture perfect appearance. And now, after all we've done and taken you tell us that even a n***** is better than us. That's the last straw.

It was Hillary's race to lose. She lost it. Get over it and stop trying to make the whole country suffer because you didn't get your revenge. Take responsibility for what's going on in your own personal world. In other words get some "balls" or get some therapy.
