***WATCH ROUND 2: SCARBOROUGH V. SHUSTER***

Monday night during MSNBC's convention coverage, Joe Scarborough was describing the surge John McCain has been experiencing in the polls over the last few weeks — but Keith Olbermann didn't want to hear it. Scarborough caught him mocking the suggestion, at which point the "Morning Joe" host rattled off a bunch of poll numbers defending his point and making the case that the McCain camp "has dug out of a grave" and "if this convention had been held two weeks ago, it would've been more of a coronation than a convention."

Olbermann and Chris Matthews scoffed at the suggestion that the race is close, with Matthews asking, "Are we done?"

Joe Scarborough is next for Keith Olbermann. He already got Dan Abrams fired so who do you guys think is next? If am Joe I would be sending my resume to Fox to see if I can get a gig.

Scarborough needs to be at Fox anyway, except they hate him over there, too. And I am not sure there is room enough for both egos of Scarborough and Bill-O and his nutty-behind self. Talk about nut cases. Phew! PEACE ON THE PLANET

He didn't get anyone fired. Dan Abrams got a promotion to the news center as a director and a legal correspondent....???????

Joe needs to go to work for "phony and blusterous" Fox News. He is just another Republican attack dog. If you have something to say, in true conservative fashion, he just talks right over your comment. He'd be especially good at selling lawn treatments door to door in suburbia.

Has anyone looked at MSNBC's ratings for the past few months and during this convention week in particular ? They are nose diving FOX News has become a ratings tsumani. It must be that their are a great deal more than conservatives that are watching.

What total claptrap! Look at the polls and you will (unfortunately) see that CNN has the lead in most of the poll numbers lately and then comes MSNBC and then FOX. Fox & MSNBC are much closer in polling than the other but shows that MSNBC seems to have the edge lately.

So please spare us your press releases for FOX...

I love KO but this was totally unprofessional. He should have let Joe finish his point and then question it. Snarky remarks while Joe was in the middle of his report do nothing to raise the level of discourse in politics and KO should know better.

Little Morning Joe has been pitching for McCain since day one. He interrupts his co anchor repeatedly to get his McCain attaboy get the last word; he intimidates her into shutting up when she tries to say something favorable about Obama, no matter how slight, and in total, is the Buchanan clone for the early morning political chatter.
I use my mute button to save my blood pressure. The man is a farce as an objective anchor.
Go Chris and Keith. You have little patience with right wing spin and I say go for it!

I think it's time for MSNBC to admit thet the Scarborough/Buchanan experiment has failed...miserably. While Buchanan at least tries on occassion, to sound reasonable, before giving in to his right wing soul, Joe Scarborough is just downright annoying, talking over anybody who tries to express a rational view. On the other hand, Rachel Maddow,in my opinion, is the most potent, intelligent and audience friendly commentator they have. She is a keeper! And while one network pays Katie Couric millions, to smile and read a teleprompter, Rachel mines the considerable depth of her knowledge to bring out facts and talking points to challenge us and, more importantly, to show up Pat & Joe for the loud, overbearing republican mouth pieces they really are.

They are all pundits in my opinion.

I would consider none of them professional, unbiased journalists.

The only one who seems rational to me - and I know I'm gonna get flack for this - is Pat Buchanen.

I don't always agree with him, but he's the only one who comes up with rational arguments when making his point.

After watching each of them a few times, you can easily surmise which way they lean.

The only problem with Buchanan is that he is verging on being a white supremacist. I know he puts on a simple right wing counterbalance for MSNBC. But in real life, he is a racist of the worst sort.

I can't get past that to listen to what he's saying. And when I do, I hear lots of things that confirm what I just said.

We discovered C-SPAN had the entire Democratic convention with no outside conversation at all. What a great experience for us - it's like being there. From these clips I realize we didn't miss a thing, but did get to hear the entire Dennis Kucinich speech which was super.

Yes, the best channel to watch for the Convention.

Favorite    Flag as abusive Posted 12:26 PM on 08/27/2008

The best channel to watch for ANYTHING convention, political and government. They repeat it through the night so if you miss it earlier you get the whole thing again, commercial free. During the day they show the other convention activities and great on the floor interviews. CSPAN is the ONLY Place for those who seek truth, unplugged and unbiased.

Wow, the disrespect, discourtesy, unprofessionalism and adolescent behavior exhibited by Olbermann and Matthews are repulsive.

JOE is the champ of bullying, shouting others down, discourtesy, and mocking any dissent. Watch him with Mika.

When somebody like rachel maddow stands up to him he, as any cowardly bully would, gets up and leaves the set. Rachel's smarter and it scares the S*#t out of him.

He's a nasty little jerk.

Keith Olbermann is the best thing that has ever happened on political TV. Joe is a Blubber Bully and scared crapless of Rachael. Of course he is afraid of anyone with a brain.

They should change the name of Joe's show and Place Dan Abrams as the host. I really liked Dan's show. It was probably the Most Fair and Balanced show on any of the Cable Networks. Other than Larry King. Whom I also love.

I like Larry too, but the last couple of nights he's brought a bunch of skunks to the picnic.

Joe's been drinking kool aid. I think that Obama will run away with the election. I cannot see how McCain can distance himself from Bush. Are you better off now then you were 8 years ago? Just keep asking the voters that over and over. I think Joe's performance is going to come back and bite him on the ass. Good thing they kept Tucker Carlson around. Joe, you have really disappointed me, not with your political views but with your attitude. You are on the MSNBC team. They pay you. Be a team player.

This is a media race, not a REAL RACE. Not one person I've spoken with in the last 3 months have said they are going to vote for Mcbush, I've never seen a single Mcbush bumper sticker in my city, nor have a seen even ONE Mcbush yard sign. Conversely, I have seen dozens of Obama yard signs in many different neighborhoods. I've seen dozens of Obama bumper stickers on ever kind of car from Lexus to Fords, and all of them in between. Even my republican friends are voting for Obama in November.

So, how can the media just can make up these far fetched pole numbers? Oh yeah! They have 24 hours of air time to fill 7 days every week to fill, so of course they need a close horse race to keep the masses watching blowhards like blitzer and hannity how if the Iraq war is any kind of an example, proves they know NOTHING.

Just remember these three words:

PRESIDENT BARACK OBAMA

You will hear them a great deal over the next EIGHT years......

I wish I could say the same, but every one of our neighbors is voting for McCain. Welcome to white bread suburbia.

If your neighbors are military draft age, they can see McCain when he visits them at the war zones. Or maybe McCain will buy their foreclosed homes and add them to his collection of residential properties.

The fact that you haven't seen a McCain bumper sticker probably has to do with where you live.

I'm sure in right leaning regions there will be found more than enough.

The format of Morning Joe is quite good. The show would just be a lot better without such a pompus, overbearing host.

agree. remove joe and keep mica. joe treats her like crap.

Favorite    Flag as abusive Posted 01:06 AM on 08/27/2008

I agree. I find myself changing the channel now. My wife has never liked Joe. The bullying is really starting to feel like the schoolyard name calling where the bigger kid taunts the smaller kid because he knows he can, and defends it by saying "But I didn't touch him!" The show is called Morning Joe, so he acts like he can say and do anything and if you question him, your a whiner, if you still question him, he makes the attack personal, and when they come back from commercial, the dialog always goes, "Did you think I was wrong? Did I say anything that someone else isn't thinking."

He takes all of the intellegence out of a good debate and makes it trivial.

While Joe was away waiting for the birth of his child, Mica did very well without him.
