Joe Scarborough Vs. Keith Olbermann, Chris Matthews On McCain's Gains In The Polls

***WATCH ROUND 2: SCARBOROUGH V. SHUSTER***

Monday night during MSNBC's convention coverage, Joe Scarborough was describing the surge John McCain has been experiencing in the polls over the last few weeks — but Keith Olbermann didn't want to hear it. Scarborough caught him mocking the suggestion, at which point the "Morning Joe" host rattled off a bunch of poll numbers defending his point and making the case that the McCain camp "has dug out of a grave" and "if this convention had been held two weeks ago, it would've been more of a coronation than a convention."

Olbermann and Chris Matthews scoffed at the suggestion that the race is close, with Matthews asking, "Are we done?"

This surprised me. I'm all for Obama and the democratic party. And Keith. And Rachel. I was pleased, but surprised by Mathews' basically cutting Scarborough off and insinuating he was full of hot air. I personally felt he was making valid points- that the McCain camp had used a bunch of negative BS to attack Obama- effectively, unfortunately. That's what Joe was saying. I felt he was being objective, for the most part. I'd rather hear someone say the opposite- but that wouldn't be accurate. But what ticked me off most was Buchanan's mentioning that Michelle not once used the word "Christian." Mathews' response was perfect. This is not a Christian country, there is a supposedly a separation of church and state, and as a part-time agnostic and full-time Jew, I resent politicians or government shoving their religious views down my throat. By the way, Michelle did use the word "churches." Satisfied?

Joe is full of hot air. He's a Republican and he's playing the ol line that the race is tight. It's not. Obama is leading in electoral votes by a large number. Joe is just mad because McCain doesn't have a chance in hell. Next up, his scrap with David Shuster for daring to suggest that Joe's idea to just pull out of Iraq and let the Sunnis cut their heads off was out of line considering that for the past few years, the Republicans have viciously attacked anyone on the left as an unpatriotic, appeaser cut and runner. Except if you look at the state by states, which Scarborough was talking about, everyone but the networks says Obama's ahead in electoral votes by a minimum of about 70 points. Joe Scarborough was making a spurious point. McCain's been getting his butt kicked and is still getting his butt kicked.

Joe is terribly unprofessional. The man seems to think that the recipe for winning a debate is to put his fingers in his ears, close his eyes, and sing "Lalalalalalala, I can't hear you, I know you are, but what am I, your mama, your mama, Lalalalalalalalalala." He and Mika are the most thin-skinned human beings I have ever seen. Any time a viewer submits a comment that even borders on being critical, they both leap into action, defending one another and essentially calling the viewer stupid. Joe has commented numerous times that he could care less what any of the viewers think about him. He has even gone so far as to brag that none of us possess the power to get him fired. I understand that his show is only making it because of his large audience of liberals/ progressives. I cannot understand for the life of me why any progressive would watch this blowhard. The format is great and the show was actually fun to watch when Joe wasn't on the scene and Mika and Willie were serving as co-hosts. Liberals/progressives need to stop supporting the likes of Joe Scarborough, Fox & Friends, and all of the other republican spinmeisters.

Actually I do believe that unless we start educating Americans about the real McCain and the repub party by way of attack attack attack. We are going to lose - and I might add that we are running out of time. Just remember - Kerry began to attack late in the game too but it was too late.

Joe Scarborough jumped down David Schuster’s back really hard on the air during a discussion on the Iraqi requested timetable. The flash point was when Schuster commented, “why can’t your party admit when it’s time to leave”. Scarborough went into an uncontrolled filibuster on how his party now hates him and how Schuster was late for Morning Joe several times, he just didn’t let up. Everyone on the set was clearing uncomfortable as Scarborough treated Schuster quite poorly on the air. After the break Scarborough offered a hug and make up apology which Schuster did not take him up on. Scarborough was clearly unhinged.

That's the main thing that bothers me about Joe... if you disagree w/ him... he won't let you get a word in edgewise... he just out talks you until you realize that you're never going to get a word in edgewise and just stop. He did that this morning to David Schuster too.. and he has poor Mika just punked.
