Pelosi To Protesters: "Can We Drill Your Brains?"

The Politico:

House Democratic leaders and protesters waving McCain signs had a war of words Tuesday at a press event outside an old train station. The demonstrators interrupted House Speaker Nancy Pelosi with chants of "Drill here! Drill now!"

Pelosi paused and asked the group, "Right here?"

Seeming to enjoy the back and forth, she followed with another question: "Can we drill your brains?"

This is true - and is precisely why we should be cutting our use of oil.

Aside from its environmental consequences and the fact that oil funds those who purchased this Administration and work to destabilize nations they consider to be "unfriendly", there is simply not enough oil in America short-term, nor enough in the world long-term.

Oil is just too valuable for use as fertilizers, in medicines, in surgical plastics, and on and on to keep burning.

More babies are born every day; the longer we hesitate to interfere with Big Oil's grip on our throats, the greater the catastrophe we endow our children with.

I for one think that anybody who advocates drilling simply to lower gasoline prices is a traitor to America and humanity as a whole.

What does impeachment accomplish when you don't have the Senate votes for removal? All that would do is give Republicans more ammunition to use against Democrats by saying: "They tried to imeach Bush and the Senate voted to acquit him, so it was nothing more than a witch hunt with no substance."

If the Democrats had more seats in the Senate, where it would only take a few Republicans to switch sides and vote for removal, then maybe your argument would be valid. Think about the big picture, and not about enacting childish revenge.
