Pelosi To Protesters: "Can We Drill Your Brains?"

The Politico:

House Democratic leaders and protesters waving McCain signs had a war of words Tuesday at a press event outside an old train station. The demonstrators interrupted House Speaker Nancy Pelosi with chants of "Drill here! Drill now!"

Pelosi paused and asked the group, "Right here?"

Seeming to enjoy the back and forth, she followed with another question: "Can we drill your brains?"

It's very interesting to me that these protesters are going after Pelosi. Granted she probably shouldn't have made that comment but---For seven years this administration has done nothing but advocate drilling. Oil companies have made millions of dollars. We in California have seen power companies use their unregulated power to raise our rates and cause shortages and a lot of you people who are so crazy about drill drill drill cheered. Even our Republican governor is not thrilled about destroying the environment on the California coast. Even the oil man Pickens is suggesting a new energy program that isn't solely relying on drilling oil. You got a problem with gas start getting cars to be energy efficient. If your thinking about using nuclear energy, start thinking about where you are going to put the waste in your home state not just in Nevada. If you are going to invade a country to get oil make sure you or your children or your grand children are right out in front. Republicans say Jimmy Carter wasn't a good President but at least he tried to get an energy policy.

Pelosi is a disappointment and an idiot. Talk about a bait and switch. I almost gagged when I was listening to her opening remarks on NPR yesterday late afternoon. I get the same nausiating sensation when listening to George W. Bush. She's no better than Joe (R) Lieberman. I hope the voters of her district elect Cindy Sheehan.

From reading a few comments on this article in Politico, I understand that some McCain supporters are taking credit for the recent drop in gas prices and attribute it to the "talk" of drilling....I wonder where this ranks on the stupid scale? 20% of the Prudhomme Bay ( the first Alaska oil) went overseas. Maybe more. More money to be made by selling overseas than lower our gas and energy costs at home. . Another comment, the oil companies make an average of $10 more per bbl of oil drilled domestically over oil imported from overseas. I wonder if the oil shipped overseas was portionally shipped there to raise their domestic costs so its profits then would not seem so obscene? These guys, and the govt, will not give the home crowd a break as witnessed by Enron who went to maintenance mode to raise profits. See the "Smartest guys in the room".

Nancy Pelosi is a traitor. She has violated her oath of office and activly conspires with war criminals to cover their crimes. I will be sending Cindy Sheehan a nice sized check with which, hopefully, she can retire Nancy to the ash heap of history.

The minute Pelosi vowed that impeachment was "off the table", she betrayed her oath of office to preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States.

She's been given a free ride because too many Americans don't know the freedoms they are losing, thanks to this enabling and traitorous Congress.

The Speaker of the House needs to loudly defend the Constitution while holding the criminal Executive Branch to account. Pelosi has done neither.

Her status as the first female Speaker seems to have protected her from any accountability.
