Pelosi To Protesters: "Can We Drill Your Brains?"

The Politico:

House Democratic leaders and protesters waving McCain signs had a war of words Tuesday at a press event outside an old train station. The demonstrators interrupted House Speaker Nancy Pelosi with chants of "Drill here! Drill now!"

Pelosi paused and asked the group, "Right here?"

Seeming to enjoy the back and forth, she followed with another question: "Can we drill your brains?"

It's the failure of the Democrats in focusing on the market manipulation due to the Republican deregulation of the Futures market that caused these gas prices that has allowed this drill here myth to propagate...!

Today, the Santa Monica city council passed a referendum to drill offshore. In CA, no less.

Dems are on the wrong side of the public opinion, obviously. When the greenies in Santa Monica lose out, that's a sure sign.

I wouldn't really consider Santa Monica a very progressive place environmentally. Now if Monterey, Santa Cruz, or Santa Barbara pass something to support drilling then you panic.

However, you also have to question whether it is really worth abandoning your principals whenever you feel like.

Not to mention, Santa Monica can't approve drilling off of their coast and have it stick. It is up to the states, and Cali is never going to go for drilling off of it's shores.
