Arkansas Didn't Mean To Go Unanimous For Obama

According to Rebecca Gwatney from the Arkansas delegation, the last line of the state's roll call speech was cut off by the Secretary. Instead of casting all 47 votes for Barack Obama, they only meant to cast 37, with 8 votes for Hillary Clinton. (Two of the state's 47 delegates were absent.) When the chair announced all 47 votes for Obama, many delegates from other states rose to cheer the state for their unanimous statement, which now appears to have only been a clerical mistake.

"It's no big deal," one Arkansas delegate told the Huffington Post.

Nothing is sacred, Hillary was absolutely fantastic, it takes real guts to do what is right when you feel so bad inside. God will remember her sacrifice.

A lot of those spokespersons for the state delegations were real idiots - the New Mexico guy was obviously a frustrated sportscaster - too arrogant to read from prepared notes - so many of them botched their chance at the microphone. It was fun to see some of them who wanted to keep blabbing after they cast their votes interrupted by the secretary who moved on as soon as the count was given. Roll call was kind of like open mike night at the Comedy Club. My own state of New York didn't do any better by picking that fossil Sheldon Silver, our State Assembly Leader. We should have let our Governor David Patterson speak instead - African American and legally blind - he would have been the quintessential spokesperson for the new inclusive face of America.

I heard the Arkansas state delegation on the way home from work. I was thinking how gracious and generous they were when they announced their delegate count. It would have been ok if they had said the correct count however.

Then why is it that during her speech she thanked her daughter but was conspicuous about NOT thanking her husband?

I would love to see Hillary go on with her life to accomplish spectacular legislative achievements...right after she dumps Bill, which she should have done after that Monica Lewinsky semen-stained dress/cigar business.

I hope she finally sees that she didn't need him then, she doesn't need him now, and she never needed the Clinton name to be the stateswoman she was meant to be. Bill did nothing but put his foot in his mouth her whole campaign. Everything she is and everything she's accomplished to get as far as she got was done ON HER OWN.

I lost tremendous respect for her when she stayed with him. No real feminist stays with a man after the mountains of incredibly public humiliation he continually heaped on her unless her intention is to ride his coattails into the White House. Turns out he was more of a liability than an asset and she didn't need him after all. She always had it in her to get there on her own all along. Had she done that, I might have voted for her.
