The Politico reports that Barack Obama's VP choice is making John McCain's more difficult:

Democrat Barack Obama's selection of Joe Biden as a running mate is complicating Republican John McCain's analysis of his prospective vice presidential contenders.

Biden will make his formal debut Wednesday with a primetime address. McCain is expected to announce his pick after Obama accepts his nomination here on Thursday.

Some insiders are pressing McCain to make a strategic selection, one that beefs up his economic strength, enhances his chance to grab a state or amps up the partisan firepower.

"McCain knows Biden well. He knows how good he is as a knife fighter. He'll take McCain apart," said one Republican operative.

But a review of the much-rumored McCain shortlist clearly exposes the weaknesses each person on it might bring if matched up against the six-term senator from Delaware.

McCain is planning a three-state VP roll-out in Ohio, Pennsylvania, and Missouri. Veep hopefuls Mitt Romney and Tim Pawlenty are both in Denver auditioning their attacks. McCain praised both of them this week. Meanwhile, both WSJ writer Henry Olsen and Bob Novak beg McCain not to pick Romney.

Sarah. Palin.

44. 2 years as governor of Alaska.

If the McSame-Palin ticket wins....well, typing that just makes me ROFL.

Although at least the Republicans realize they are on the ropes and desperate. And maybe it -will- put some pressure on Biden to be sure not to make any of his patented self-deprecating female "jokes" ("my wife's a Ph.d which causes some problems", etc.)

Those have got to go.

But how can a one-term Alaska governor be experienced enough in foreign policy (or domestic either) or even administrative skills, to be a U.S. president if the 72 year old McCain can't serve?

Do we really want to risk our country in the hands of someone so INEXPERIENCED when the president himself would be (1) old and (2) in bad health to begin with?

The media will spin it positively, of coures.

But Palin is a really bad choice.

"Do we really want to risk our country in the hands of someone so INEXPERIENCED"

Thanks Jsinclair, you just articulated why Obama is not the best choice from either party.

Except that Barack Obama has experience at the community level, experience in state level government, and experience in federal government. Did you want him to get intergalactic experience too? Quit swallowing mindless GOP memes and think for yourself sometimes.

It has to be difficult to motivate a Repugnican to take the VP job after Bush and Cheney have milked the U.S Treasury cash cow dry leaving nothing for those who follow.

CNN is so in the tank for the Repugs!! This Convention has turned out pretty entertaining for the Dems. And it ain't even over. Whoever has been watching across the country and was on the fence for O & B has had to have gotten it by now. Geez, give me a break. All we can hope is that Gustav blows the crap out of the TWINS (Mccain + Bush) out in the TWIN CITIES! I'm waiting for Mccain and Bush to repeat the bear hug (and the forehead kiss), that would seal the deal. "They're asking us to reward them for eight miserable years, with four more years"- Bil Clinton

I'll have to quote Cenk Uygur on this because I thought it encapsulated Romney in a beautiful metaphoric shell,

"I would love it if Romney where the VP pick...I think he is made of wax and will melt"

I'm curious who McCain is going to pick, now that he boxed himself into declaring a VP on Friday and is running out of time to make a good, solid decision. Hope McCain is telling the truth (for once) that he's already got his VP picked out. Otherwise (if he makes a hasty decision) we're going to hear oh, so much more of his Number One excuse:
"My friends ... did you know I was a P.O.W.?"
Sorry, John. That ended 35 years ago. Time to own your present day decisions! Obama hit a home run with Biden. Let's see how good you do on an even playing field!

Lieberman is the overall worst of the choices mentioned. Politically he adds nothing to the ticket and subtracts plenty.
Rice would fare the worst in a debate with Biden. The others might slog through by mouthing simple talking point answers, she would have to answer directly and more concisely for the Bush failures.

Whoever McCain's VP choice is, McCain is pulling out all the stops when he makes the announcement. In order to top Barack Obama's text-message and e-mail notification to HIS supporters, the McCain campaign is working feverishly to complete a tin-can-and-string telephone system to spread the word.

Please consider this. The country is like it is been in a serious car wrek. We are battered and bruised, in the hospital of life. We are hoping that we will heal. Our champion is coming home; our champion will make things right. It will all turn out better.

This is what we are hoping for as a people, as a nation. Given the above scinerio would you trust McCain to come through for you. This is a familiar story, and we already know how it's going to turn out.

Maybe he wouldn't have been shot down if he had payed attention in class and learned how to fly and participate in a dogfight. He graduated at the bottom of his class. 5th from the last in a class of approx. 400.

He ditched 3 fighter jets due to blunders even before he went to VietNam.

He is an example of what Dubya would have been like if he had showed up for duty instead of going AWOL to party. A buddy of his claims they used to snort coke off the wing of W's jet together.
