Thanks for the info HuffPo - I'll be standing by my TV with baited breath to see this one!
GEEZ!
Apparently HuffPo has joined the ranks of the MSM who feel that disguising commercials as "news stories" is acceptable journalism. This practice is commonly refered to as "infotainment" or "advertorials" in the industry. Mostly abused by local new outlets, but growing ever popular. This is completely insulting and only pushes this site lower into the bowls shoddy news gathering.
Too bad.

Exactly how is a company makling an ad for itself...news?

And the company isn't even doing anything particularly commendable. In fact it is bordering on fraud. They are giving the impression that something is free when it is not. And not only that but a genuinely free credit report is available under court order elsewhere (annualcreditreport.com).

The ads are funny. I don't know why HuffPo is pimping this product though.

Did you know that "FreeCreditReport" is actually not free?

When I'm zipping through TiVO I actually stop and backtrack to watch these commercials. There's something about these three that crack me up.

Well, another advert agency that knows how to create buzz. If only our elected officials could/would do their jobs as well. :(

Hate admit it, but I LOVE these commercials and the 3 guys in them. The songs get stuck in my head for days...but this song sounds like CAKE, not rap.

Um, this is on Huffpo why? Seriously, I don't have a television, have seen the commercials, don't consider them the least bit newsworthy. Someone's getting paid to put this series of stories on the free credit report commercials up? Y'all need someone who can tell the difference between news and minutia, 'cause I'm available?

on huffpost, just a few weeks ago: "It turns out those commercials are pretty much lying to you".

seriously, why you are giving these con-artists free publicity?? if there was any justice, this operation and the douches behind it would be shut down and sued into oblivion (they've already been sued for deceptive advertising - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/FreeCreditReport.com)

This campaign is the worst s--t in advertising history, bar none. I immediately change channels to avoid my head exploding every time this garbage comes on. The entire crew responsible should be arrested for inciting violence.

HuffPo of late has been giving freecreditreport.com and inordinant amount of free publicity. What's up? I'd instead like see another expose on the company's sleazy bait and switch mode of operation.

It's "I married my dream girl."

I hate all of these commercials. Change the channel when they come on.

I hate them too, they're not clever and I think they're poorly written.
