Talking Points Memo:

On Fox News just now, Howard Wolfson unleashed a broad attack on MSNBC and its top on-air personalities, slamming the network's coverage of Bill and Hillary, hitting back at Chris Matthews and Keith Olberman for using his work for Fox to question his Democratic credentials, and blasting MSNBC as having been "taken over" by "antics."

The broadside from Wolfson, who has until now refrained from publicly critiquing MSNBC despite months of deep unhappiness within Hillaryland about the network's coverage of her, is a declaration of open war against MSNBC and two of its most visible political commentators that likely will only escalate from here.

"I'm not gonna take any lectures on how to be a good Democrat from two people who spent the last two years relentlessly attacking Bill and Hillary Clinton everyday," Wolfson said on the air moments ago, when asked by the Fox anchor to respond to some criticism of Wolfson on MSNBC yesterday.

Well he just proofed what I said somewhere here yesterday. All these who fail are running to the Bush News and hugs Repugs smears machine...here is some big true which I just read on Daily Kos:
MSNBC has been a place of refuge for the left in a world dominated by the agenda of the Right (Fox News, Conservative Radio, Glenn Beck and Lou Dobbs on CNN, etc.). There seems to be almost no where to turn except MSNBC.

He RAN Hillary's campaign into the ground. He should have pushed her to admit her vote for the war was a HUGE mistake and he should have asked to to publicly try to take it back. He didn't.

A consumate Clintonoid searching for scapegoats for his failures and the failure of his benefactors, Wolfson is the latest disgrace from the camp of the Clintons, selling what remains of his soul for a pittance, and hoping Obama loses so they could prepare for another run in 2012. Yes, this was Hillary Clinton's nomination to lose, and lost it she did, and to a candidate who directed a more efficient campaign, played by the rules, and made them work for him. The bitterness on the other side is amazing; they need to get over it.

Of course Wolfson isn't going to listen to lectures on how to be a good Democrat - he has no interest in being one.

Hey Wolfson - guess what - I have never watched faux news and neither have my four sons nor their families. We will never watch you or listen to the sewage you spew out of your mouths on a daily basis and as far as I am concerned if you all contracted a terminal illness the world would be better served.

Wolfson has only been on FOX a couple of months and has already learned their talking points! He is a quick learner.

Wolfson is part of the group of lobbyist that want to represent the Speculators to keep gas at $4.00 per gallon and higher and block the legislation to reestablish the regulation of the Futures market...

So he's one of the bad guys, who is willing to cripple our economy and inflict misery on the American people..!

Wolfson is right. MSNBC's Olbermann, Matthews, Maddow, and Barnacal have ATTACKED the Clintons and been pro-Obama spokespeople. It's entertaining but not balanced.

Brokaw is the one journalist on that channel that presents an unbiased real approach the the news.

If he really believes news programs should be balanced, why is Wolfson working for FOX?

I can't believe I am saying this but the overall coverage this election cycle (bar Hannity and Bil O) was more balanced than MSNBC. Although anything was more balanced than MSNBC. It is why they are struggling in the ratings. People don't like the condescending approach to news TELLING us the way things should be instead of presenting information and ideas and allowing US, the consumer, to decide for ourselves.

Again, just look at the ratings. Numbers don't lie.

Since Fox is the official Republican network, MSNBC is probably just trying to counter-balance THEIR balance in the other direction! Sadly, NO network is unbiased, but at least MSNBC has people like Pat Buchanan, Tucker Carlson and Joe Scarsboro to give viewers SOME balance.

Yeah, well... Olbermann supported Clinton in the beginning; I guess so did Matthews. But for anyone ot watch the Clintons unleash their pitbulls on Obama and stay ont he fence?! People left the Clintons when it became too much; and when Hillary failed to withdraw even when she knew the game was up. They were hoping against hope to snatch victory from a difficult place; never happened.

"Olbermann supported Clinton in the beginning; I guess so did Matthews"

The point is that people (and certainly I) don't want to get their news from people who are supporting one candidate over another. Cable news is not talk radio--it's the news and commentating.

It's unfortunate that I can no longer understand what Brokaw is saying, if it is unbiased I'll never know. Someone has to push back at Fox, they've gotten away with their snarky partisanship for too long. Actually, Barnicle (this is how you spell it, Abbie) is not a Democrat, I live in Boston, and he will attack either side equally. Thank you Lord for the other three!!! Howard Wolfson is a smirking narcissist and part of the reason Hilary lost.

I hear the Democrats talk about universal health care a lot this election season, we really need to put aside "feelings" and "fairness" on this debate and take a look at if we can actually afford it. Medicare has already set us on the path of $35+ TRILLION in unfender liabilities and that only covers 45 million people . . . no chance of adding another 280 million people, we will collapse under a mountain of debt.

Take a few minutes and listen to David Walker who was our Comptroller General and ran the GAO.

If you want health insurance, earn it by getting a job that provides it.
