MacKenzie Phillips was arrested at Los Angeles International Airport Wednesday for alleged drug possession, police confirm to PEOPLE.
"She was being screened by airport security when a small amount of what appeared to be heroin and cocaine were found on her person," Sgt. Jim Holcomb said. "She was arrested at about 10 a.m. and is still in custody."
He added: "The substances were found in balloons and baggies."

I don't have any sympathy for her at all. Isn't 48 years of age a little old to be getting high? She's a nut case.

She was in People Magazine in 1980!!! Talking about her years long cocaine addiction. Man, what a tough wasted life. All those years, all that money down the drain. Now she is saying she is broke and doesn't have bail money. Even though she is an adult, I feel for the poor woman, not much chance when you have that guy for a father.

I recall many years ago after Ms. Phillips went public after they graduated from rehap, all she seems to really care was the bad effect that these hard drug have on her skin. It seems like she was a candidate for relapse back then. But I wish her well, addiction to coke especially is a hard thing to shake - almost as hard as cigerettes.
Still, to try to pass ANY amount through airport security is a sure sign that your addiction have made you take leave of your senses!

I would say it's the other way around.
Nope, it's true. More people who try to quit heroin/coke actually get off the stuff for good than people who try to quit nicotine. That explains Mark Twain's comment that quitting smoking is easy- (always followed by him saying he'd done it dozens of times.)
And this is a surprise why? You'd think she'd have learned from her folks and her past mistakes. It doesn't matter how much talent you have, you can lose everything, including your life, chasing the dragon.
Funny, as we get older, the age difference between her and I seems to get smaller and smaller.

At least she is wealthy enough so this weakness won't put her into the gutter as it would the average woman.
