I ask anyone who can tell me, please, why Ralph Reed was on the 12 a.m. EST Larry King Live? I am so confused by his appearances lately. I recall Senator McCain on the Committee re Abramoff and Reed's lovely e-mails and now Reed is one of McCain's hounds from hell. I am not smart enough to figure out the strategy here.

Yes, the House of Clinton is on the road to fully salvaging their legacy.
I am tempted to help Senator Clinton clear her debt..I will have to give it some serious consideration.

I owe Senator Clinton an apology. I viewed the placement of her name in nomination at the convention as a self-serving act. By moving to suspend the roll-call vote, she has shown her commitment to the Party and the election of its nominee, Barack Obama. The same is true of her eloquent, heartfelt, and brilliant speech to the Convention last night. Her motion on the floor today was a masterful piece of political theater as well as an unlooked-for, humble, and moving gesture from a powerful leader.

Brava! Senator Clinton is back in my good books, and the Party is on track to win, and win big, with Barack Obama in November.

As an Obama supporter, I was pleased-with-some-misgivings about Sen. Clinton's speech last night. After today's convention events -- Hillary Clinton doing the vote by acclamation & Bill Clinton's speech -- I am simply impressed. The Clintons came through admirably and deserving of respect. Had the situation been reversed, I would have expected no less from the Obamas.
Now, it's time for all of us who have been appalled by the extremist Republican policies of the last 8 years to put our collective eyes on the prize & work to make change happen. The alternative is indefensible.

Why do you say that? What have they done?

The truth is, you DONT know. You only WISH. So, the question is, why do you wish that the 0-family would be graceless if the situation were reversed? What do you get out of thinking that? Does it make you feel superior? Smart? Why do you WANT to think ill of people you don't even know personally?

It actually just makes you a bad, spiteful person.

Such a helpful, practical, meaningful observation. If you heard me say that aloud you'd hear the sarcasm and distaste in my tone. At this stage of the game, after all that has passed, and after the Clintons' ringing exhortations, you are still fostering this kind of discord?

You seem to have an intimate knowledge of the workings of the Obama family. Pray, tell us more... Guess not. You're too busy pressing your crop of sour grapes. Hope it's a vintage year.

Thank you President & Senator Clinton!
I hope that all of us can unite behind Senator Obama, work had to help him get elected, and make this country what it can be.

We MUST work to sispell the lies and hatred that will be sent out by McCain and the republician party. If we allow this country to be divided then we will all suffer for at lesat four more years while the Bush, Cheny, McCain, Rove, and their minions pillage this country and the world in their attempt to gain power and control over the world!

Well, after being fairly critical of the Clintons' behavior during this election cycle, I can certainly say that I'm proud of both of them tonight. The ostensibly put country ahead of party and personal ambition and for that they deserve a large and heartfelt round of applause. Or two. Or three.

Yes we can. And we need to.

Thanks, Hill and Bill. You did great.

I guess this was directed at me...but I say it again, they had to change their tunes if they wanted to be respected again. You see Bill coming out there with the black friend. Got to love it. Bill really wanted his black base back; all about image. Okay, so he got it, I was impressed with how he gave Obama love... but he lose it for a reason. We Dems are forgiving and we give them another chance to redeem themselves. That's the democratic way. I was completely pleased with Bill and Hillary this week, so I have nothing negative to say about them. They did good, Obama did great, Joe and Michelle... A good week so far. I guess I can continue to read Bill's "Giving" book now.

You are wrong Ms. W i l l i a m s. They ARE respected.

She fought hard during the primary. She took the fight to him.

If she was TOO SOFT it would send a message women aren't strong enough to be president

Did you ever consider that?

And if the O-camp is that thin-skinned you should leave politics.

As for the AA base - B i l l put more minorities in positions of political power than ANY president before him or since. He launched more careers of AA politicians than you relaize.

Check out all the AA circuit judges he assigned in southerm districts to bring fairness to the court system in the deep south that, in 1992, was still running the court sustems like it was 1950. .

You were probably a baby in 1992. You take all this for granted now. Go read up on what he did for minorities and AA specifically.

LarBear,

You sound like you're proud of the Clinton's performance in the convention, but you also want to do an undeserved "aha gocha" at Obama supporters.

Be fair. Read back through articles here on Huffingtonpost, message boards, other newspaper interviews. How many times have you heard "dire threats" from everyone from the PUMAs, to Hillary's wealthy patron fundraisers threatening to fund McCain in revenge, to Bill Clinton praising McCain, to Lannie Davis articles, to posts saying "He's going to lose! Hillary 2012!" ....my fingers are tired. But ungracious isn't proprietary to Obama supporters.

Obama supporters, as a GROUP, haven't been bad winners. You could turn it back and say some (not all!) Cinton supporters were ungracious losers.

In fact you're doing it right now. How many posts have you seen from people saying "Way to go Hillary!" and "Bill did great. Thank you!". Those aren't mean people. Those are relieved people.

How about we all focus less on digging in to BBQ crow and more on picking the bones of the John McCain campaign?

Take a breath. Or take it outside. Enough already. If you like Hillary - you're undermining her work. Why are you doing that? Come on. Stop now.

I can se that all here have really reasearched the facts and come to aan informed decison. Since you all understand why Obams was connected with a known domestic terrorists tell him to let the rest of us know. Ask him to release a "certified copy of his live birth record and any and all adoption records, all passports held and when surrendered. Ask him to explain why he spent 20 years in his church and never knew his pastor was so angry and why he would expose his children to such hatred. I guess you all believe him when he said "We are the ones we have been waiting for".

President O'bama, get used to it.

So, you do realize, that by posting this, YOU are spreading hatred and intolerance?

You don't know what went on. You just heard someone say this stuff and you thought it was a good idea to go repeat without ever researching it.

Do you know what irony is? It is when you get mad and criticize someone for tolerating "hatred" while you spread a message to hate someone you don't even know because he is a different color than you.

Sick.

He has released his certified birth record. You can go online and find it.
Also, when I went to church, my preacher preached hatred too. Hatred against homosexuals, hatred against non-Christians, hatred against anyone that didn't believe the same way they did. I no longer attend that church.
Prove beyond a reasonable doubt that the Obamas are connected to domestic terrorists. Talk is cheap. I can type or say anything I want too. Don't just tell me he met someone at a fundraiser or dinner party one night. So what! I meet new people all the time. Doesn't mean I know what's going on in their lives.
Prove your talking points, idiot!

The Democratic party had a coronation- not democratic at all. What is the fear of having an open and honest roll call vote ? That Hillary would win ?
I have never voted Republican in my life even for a dog catcher and I was tempted to for John McCain- but listening to Hillary and Bill- I pause.
If I hear any more venom, hate, or derisive comments on Bill Clinton, the BEST 2 term Dem president from the Obama Robots- I will vote for McCain or stay home.
The DNC engineered this- let Dean, Pelosi and Obama swim or sink on their own

Then watch as the Supreme Court is sent totally and finally to the right for the rest of our lives. All laws slanted to the rich, powerful, white male society. Forget about social security, labor unions, habeas corpus, free speech and the constitution. And don't forget continual war without end. Go ahead and do it! You are selfish, short sighted and foolish!

If you were watching the roll call vote, it was obvious that she was getting less delegates than she got in the primary. She stopped the roll call to save herself some embarrassment and to unify the party. Try unifying sometime, you might like it.

She didn't stop the roll call to save herself embarrassment . . . that was not her intention. To unify the party - yes. The illusion of the roll call was to bring to a close what many of her supprters needed to "get over it". I'm sure she has plans for her future that she is looking to. She isn't going to disappear. I wouldn't be surprised if she had a cabinet position that puts her in a better position in the future.

Bill and Hillary showed why they were a powerful force in the White House. Those were good times. No one can hammer it home like Bill and Hillary was sensational.

I say stop hammering the Clintons. Let's all work together to get Obama and Biden elected.

We cannot afford 4 more years of Bush. Remember the Supreme Court.

What a night!

Once the roll call issue was behind us, i relaxed and dared to open my heart to the possibility that we will win this time.

I was touched by the Spielberg video, laughed and cheered along with Bill, marveled at Beau, teared up as Joe Biden spoke of his family, their values, the lessons he learned. Holey Moley, even Kerry captivated me tonight.

Our country needs this new leadership so very badly. It was wonderful to see the ego wars subside and the shoulder to shoulder unity emerge.
