***UPDATE***
MSNBC is reporting that Barack Obama will be making a surprise appearance on stage with Sen. Biden after his speech. The Washington Post confirms:

Sen. Barack Obama will join Sen. Joe Biden on stage at the end of Biden's speech, says an Obama spokesman.

***UPDATE***

The latest talk is that Obama will not appear on stage, but rather sit in the same Pepsi Center box that Biden has been appearing in for the primetime speeches.

DENVER - Democratic staffers here are buzzing with rumors that Sen. Barack Obama, who just arrived in the Mile High City today, will make a surprise appearance tonight at the Pepsi Center.

Obama is set to tour Invesco Field tomorrow morning in advance of his nomination speech in the evening. Otherwise, his schedule is shrouded in mystery (and will probably involve a good deal of time spent rewriting and rehearsing his remarks).

Presumably, if he does show up, Obama will appear with his running mate, Joe Biden. But imagine the scene if Obama and Bill Clinton celebrated together on stage?

As delighted as I have been by the DNC Convention thus far, absolutely nothing and no one has delighted me more than Senator Obama's surprised appearance and gracious gestures tonight.

The total sense of competency, efficiency, and ease with self and others that Senator Obama exudes is wonderfully reassuring. To think that we will once again have a President who can command our respect and trust......ohhh, I think America can begin to EXHALE.

I am so glad Senator Obama appeared before McCain attempted to get more publicity by announcing his choice for a VP. Only question is why Senator Kennedy was not acknowleged. The Steven Spielberg film was wonderful.

Good point...but under the circumstances you win a few and sometimes you lose a few. Kennedy might get a mention tommororw nite...when I am positive BO will thank him for his courage and support.

I watched on Cspan and was so surprised to see Obama come on stage. I'm glad I wasn't looking at Huffpo or listening to the talking idiots to ruin the surprise. The media in all forms now has its good points but also its bad ones.

His appearance was a perfect cap to the evening. Perfect. He just "officially" took over the mantle and thanked the Clintons publicly for their support. He showed who was now in charge. The torch has been passed. Wonderful touch. Well done. The trolls are just whistling past the graveyard here.....

Good, I can't wait to see Barack and hear what he has to say. He's got style, he's got grace, and I hope he wins this race.

PBS has the real raw coverage with no flapping head punditoids as well.

True, but CSPAN is even better; it covers gavel to gavel while PBS only covers from 7 p.m. CST. At some points, those "flapping head punditoids" (I must remember this phrase) turn my stomach.

Bill's not bothering to go to Barry's toga party. Why would he want to interrupt the two days of Clinton?
