Didn't dems try this last time and got beat down by Bush. You'd think they would learn that the public just does not believe dems are up to the task on terror or security; it doesn't matter who they get to say that they are.

Oh yes, I forgot. Thanks GOP for NOT capturing Osama bin Laden dead or alive, thanks GOP for making the world EVEN LESS safe. Thanks GOP for the rise in the Taliban in Afganistan.

You show the world just how tough on terror the GOP is. ..........

That's the difference between Republicans and GOP, the human face!

Perhaps now is the time for Republicans to declare war on GOP and reclaim their party!

I've been watching the Convention on CSPAN, which is the only way to go as far as I'm concerned. You feel like you're really there, and actually get to hear all the other testimonials, not just the keynote speakers. There have been several Republicans talking about the failed Republican Party. They had average Americans telling their stories. Madeline Albright spoke, and of course the cable and major networks didn't think a former SOS was newsworthy enough. I have to say it's far more enjoyable watching the Convention without all the annoying commentators and commercials.

Of course we're happier! We're not sexually-repressed homophobic war-mongering bigots who worship the dollar before anything else.

It's going to be tougher for Obama here on. Next week, we would see on television the guys we love to hate, from Cheney to Bush, ripping Obama apart.

And Barack, as usual, is tough enough to take the hits.

There's no better source of comedy fodder than the Republican National Convention. Even Schwarzenegger found a perfect scapegoat not to attend.

I heard that, due to so many non-attendees, they'll be having McC's acceptance speech in a local high school auditorium... A lunch of chicken meat nuggets and tater tots will be served immediately following. Festivites will be concluded by 6:30PM as Senator McC has an appt to watch Matlock at 7pm, lights out at 8.

Consider this: how will the country and the world react to McCain as our next president?

Scary, eh? The unthinkable. It could be like 2004 all over again, but this time there will be NO hope on the horizon.

for all those trying to politicize the troops, I just lost a friend yesterday, my second one, to this war. there are real lives out there being lost and it's disgusting to see people playing politics with them.

I'm so sorry, macaframa. My heart goes out to you, your friend's family, his fellow soldiers and friends. Just because people play politics heartlessly doesn't make it relevant. It's not. Your friend deserves our utmost thanks and honor for his sacrifice. I hope you're okay...

The real disgusting part is that this did not have to happen. The young were taken advantage of to fight a war based on lies.I was once young, and recognize the invulnerable feeling we all have when we are young. Hell I volunteered for all kinds of things during the Vietnam war, because I was invincible, and stupid. As I got older, I recognized how governments use those traits for fighting their wars. Instead of lowering the drinking age because the young can serve in the military, we should raise the age for a person to enter the military.Give their minds a time to mature to a level of sound thinking.

Had Hillary won the nomination, I would have supported her tooth and nail. Ask any of Obama's biggest fans who supported Howard Dean in 2004 if they supported John Kerry. You bet your ass this one did. And I tell you what, if Joe Biden doesn't run in 2016, I would be thrilled to support a Hillary run then. I don't love Obama because of any dislike of Hillary. She's fantastic and brilliant. We just need to put an end to the tailspin this country's been in for 8 years. So bind together with us now, and we'll happily support Hillary any chance we get!

C-Span, had 25 Iraq soldiers on that was on stage at the same time endorsing and supporting Obama. So not all the vets and soldiers are supporting McCain as they try to make Americans believe.

See, that's why we're going to win this election. We're coming together again, not as Republicans and Democrats, but as Americans first and foremost. We've all had enough of this liberal/conservative divisiveness. We'll only beat this thing if we come together as one people.

It happened in my house. I'm a die-hard Democrat. My husband was a hard-core ex-military Republican. I'm amazed we even got together. In the last eight years, we've only really argued about one thing: The Bush Administration. Ordinarily, I'd love being right about everything, but not about this.

I said that Bush would destroy everything we gained during the Clinton years, and that his systematic destruction of the middle class for the sake of making his rich friends richer would cause the economy of this country to collapse under the weight of sheer, unbridled greed. And here we are. Bush's stupidity has brought this country to its knees, taking most of us with it. I truly wish I'd been wrong about that.

We decided to call a truce and vote one ticket because even he can't take it anymore. We agree that the unity we really need is Republicans and Democrats united against the criminals in Washington who are destroying our country and killing our jobs.

Anyone else who cares to join us, we'd love to have you along!
