Cindy McCain's Half-Sister: I'm Voting For Obama

Cindy McCain's half-sister tells Us Magazine that she won't help put her famous sibling in the White House:

"I'm not voting for McCain," Kathleen Hensley Portalski tells Us. "I have a different political standpoint.

"I'm voting for Obama," the Phoenix resident says. "I think his proposals to improve the country are more positive and I'm not a big war believer."

Portalski's son Nathan, an aerospace machinist, is also backing Obama.

"I wouldn't vote for John McCain if he was a Democrat," he tells Us. "I would not vote at all before I'd vote for him.

"I question whether Cindy is someone I'd want to see in the White House as first lady," he adds.

Portalski went public with her connection to the McCains after hearing Cindy say on the trail that she was an only child.

"I'm upset," she told NPR. "I'm angry. It makes me feel like a nonperson, kind of."

"It's terribly painful," Portalski added. "It is as if she is the 'real' daughter. I am also a real daughter."

The Washington Post subsequently reported that Cindy has another half-sister who seems to have slipped her mind:

Before her marriage to Hensley, Johnson had a daughter, Dixie Burd, by a previous relationship. Burd, who is much older than Cindy, could not be reached for comment.

I think the worse character flaw for Cindy is that she dated John when his wife - who took care of him for several years when he returned from his torture ordeal - was recovering from a very serious car accident. It says a lot about both of them.

This woman obviously needs professional help. There were obviously problems between her and her father that she needs to deal with. I guess she needs to blame someone and her father is gone so she blames Cindy. What a sad situation for her. And how sad she feels the need to air family problems in public. She got her 15 minutes in the spotlight but I doubt it made her feel any better. I hope she seeks the help she needs and finds some emotional relief.

The Mccain family does not represent solid family values, nor do they have a grasp on reality. How can you have a grasp on reality when you are worth over 100 million dollars, you deny your own family, and you cant even remember how many homes you have.

Lets wake up America, MCCAIN is not the right choice for this country. We are losing homes, losing jobs, and over 47 million people do not have health insurance. We have lost all of our privacy because of the current administration, that does not seem to think they are accountable to us, the people who voted them in place.

We spend more on war than on health care and education. Bush recently approved funding to help other nations fight the aids crisis, yet in this country people are dying daily of aids and many do not have the health insurance to fight the fight.

She's a minor. Not every candidate parades their kids around for political points. If you'd been interested in politics before this year, you would know very well why. I think it is admirable that in this campaign in which race seems to be such an issue that they have not put her in the spotlight.

Why wouldn't a candidate share the spotlight with their family, especially since it's the accepted way it's ALWAYS been done. You know darn well why they're hiding her. They are trying to avoid what BushRove did to them in 2000 and hoping that Republicans have a short memory. What would they think if BOTH candidates are related to minorities. That would confuse many on the right. And I hope it does.

I read an article that Cindy's father left $10,000 to each of his first two daughters and the balance of the estate to Cindy... now worth over 100 million. With all the money they have, why won't she help her half-sisters? Pure greed on her part and opportunism on John's part. They really sicken me.
