Cindy McCain's Half-Sister: I'm Voting For Obama

Cindy McCain's half-sister tells Us Magazine that she won't help put her famous sibling in the White House:

"I'm not voting for McCain," Kathleen Hensley Portalski tells Us. "I have a different political standpoint.

"I'm voting for Obama," the Phoenix resident says. "I think his proposals to improve the country are more positive and I'm not a big war believer."

Portalski's son Nathan, an aerospace machinist, is also backing Obama.

"I wouldn't vote for John McCain if he was a Democrat," he tells Us. "I would not vote at all before I'd vote for him.

"I question whether Cindy is someone I'd want to see in the White House as first lady," he adds.

Portalski went public with her connection to the McCains after hearing Cindy say on the trail that she was an only child.

"I'm upset," she told NPR. "I'm angry. It makes me feel like a nonperson, kind of."

"It's terribly painful," Portalski added. "It is as if she is the 'real' daughter. I am also a real daughter."

The Washington Post subsequently reported that Cindy has another half-sister who seems to have slipped her mind:

Before her marriage to Hensley, Johnson had a daughter, Dixie Burd, by a previous relationship. Burd, who is much older than Cindy, could not be reached for comment.

When all is said and done, I am still here wondering what would make the "more experienced" McCain a better president than Barack Obama. Most of what I have heard from him is war strategy, exactly the type of approach to governance and foreign policy thhat has landed the US in this pickle, almost a pariah to the rest of the world.

I am sure a McCain victory means he would become the titular head of state, and the same players who now call the shots -- literally -- will continue doing so. How much has their "experience" and strength benefited the country?

I would be more than bitter if brother or sister was out there telling people they were an only child knowing full well that isn't the case. I am sure that if Kathleen Hensley Portalski was THAT interested in the money should could make a play for it legally, but who's to say she wasn't taken care of when her father passed away. Either way you look at it for Cindy to make that claim knowing it is a false one show's just how messed up these two are.

Maybe Obama's 7 half brothers aren't voting for him because they can't? You know with them being from a different country and all. The problem is not that Cindy "forgot" she had sisters, the problem is that she KNOWs she has sisters and acted like and spoke like they didn't even exist.

Stealing drugs from a charity to support her habbit, as the bookkeeper, covered up accounting records of the Keating 5, stole cookie recipes and tried to pass her off as her own, recently perpetuated the lie that Mother Teresa personally asked her to adopt a baby when she only adopted from an orphanage that Mother Teresa supported, stole McCain away from his crippled wife, and whose family fights against Mothers Against Drunk Driving.

my son is stationed at camp pendelton with McCain's son James..they were in iraq together also....my son recently told me that james said..." i would'nt vote for my dad"...according to my son...james does'nt have much of a relationship with his dad

I always wondered if McCain forced them to join up because of the family name and because he wanted to run for POTUS. Let's face, people have been know to sacrifice family for their own ambitions. I heard McCain made remarks or an ad re. Obama's daughters being brats. Have anyone seen or heard about it?

I believe you are absolutely right, one thing he wants to be president real bad, and there is nothing or no one that will stand in the way of his ambitions, considering his actions of late. to be blunt, by any means nescessary. I have heard the same thing about the Obama's children, I haven't seen anything to verify that yet.

I love the fact that Cindy has been telling people she is an only child when in fact she has 2 half sisters. I see why she wants to bury them. I don't get the conservatives who, in the past placed so much importance on family values. McCain admittedly had several affairs during his first marriage then left his children and injured first wife (the one who waited for him while he was a POW), all to marry this rich heiress who he calls a "c*nt." Barack Obama and Joe Biden are clearly devoted, loving husbands and fathers and no one, no one has been able to counter that. Just watching Obama and Biden interact with their wives and children as well as the fact that they both married strong, smart women says so much about their character. Yet, somehow family values is no longer important to the conservatives. I don't know what IS important to them any more. There is no message from McCain or the GOP. What are they "for"? We know what conservatives are against (Obama), but what are they "for"?

It's always vaguely gratifying to hear of more liberal people repudiating their repub relatives, but her statement about Cindy hurting her by saying she was "an only child" is a tad dramatic. Does anyone truly expect honor or integrity from conservative America? That's partly why the dems have been having their asses handed to them all these years--they keep expecting the republican "Lucy" to hold the ball steady for the democrat "Charlie Brown" and hope that maybe THIS time she doesn't yank the ball as she has a hundred times in the past.
