Jennifer Hudson sang the national anthem at Invesco Field for the Democratic Convention. Obama personally requested her for the job, according to reports, and she didn't disappoint Watch the video below of Hudson knocking the song out of the park.

Jennifer gave me chills! So did Michael McDonald. But my current song for Obama is a gospel song by the name of " Jesus Build a Fence all aound me (Obama)" . Becuase of all of the negative messages of evil from Rush Limbaugh and Fox, I try and keep Obama prayed up.

Jennifer was great! But for me,watching on C-Span, the sound on the rest didn't come across very well.
Maybe it was my TV speakers and poor hearing but I turned the sound down during the musical event. The sound mix seemed really uneven.

I didn't really feel it. It was well-sung, but I didn't feel it. I still re-watch Whitney's version because that one knocked it out of the park.

Love Whitney, but her version didn't do much for me. I prefered Marvin Gaye's version- since you wanna go back some.

AGREE! Marvin slowed it down and made it sexy, didn't he? Do you know how many people were angry after he did that?! I remember my dad talking about it. He taped it (yup: VHS) and watched it several times.

Whitney's version is the only one that makes me cry. It was so beautifully sung! Probably her best song in 10 years. (laugh)

I didn't hate this version, but I didn't love it. She missed some low notes, it sounded like to me. But it was respectable. She should have ended it with "and you and you and you... you gonna love me!"
