I don't get why John Legend was the focus and not Will.i.am. The camera hit everything, it seemed, but him in this clip. John Legend in white with lots of light and Will.i.am in shadows in dark clothes. Did I miss some sort of symbolism?

I hadn't noticed it the first time, retiree, but you're right! And he's the person who conceived and produced the whole thing. What's up with that MSNBC?

Actually, I was a little annoyed by their coverage overall. C-SPAN was way less intrusive and you got to hear all the great music, not just have it be a muffled background to pundits saying the same things over and over and over. There were also interviews with the everyday people who attended. I'm a Keith Olbermann fan and don't usually mind MSNBC (except for that Morning Joe guy and some of his smug and clueless sidekicks).

By the way, the Agape choir looked absolutely gorgeous. Shows you just how beautiful diversity can be!

Well, he is the more recognizable star, I think, and he really can sing. I dunno.

I was hoping to see the Si Se Puede! guy. That's always the part in the video where I start crying. Still great though. I'm all goosebumpy.

I am Obama 100% but I cringe when I hear this cornball song. It is absoulutly terrible. Is it even really a song? Its so....Id ont even know what it is...but hearing it makes me cringe in uncomfortablity.

I HAAAATE it. Never liked it...

I love it. Musical taste is a funny thing.

I agree. This song gets me going, and that's a good thing.

Yeah it truely is. Because I look out in the audience and I see people just loving the song LOL And Im at home like, "WHY!?"

Oh well...glad the hip-hop artist in my generation (for the most part) are starting to get politically involved in the best way we know how and we see that even a hated (by some) art form like hiphop can have a place in politics even on one of it's most important days.

**I cry every time I hear it. It touches me deeply. There is such longing in the words.

This song had over a million hits on YouTube in less than five days but I can sleep better now that Seven7s has weighed in with his/her most valuable musical opinion. Thank you so much for sharing. What were those millions of people thinking?

What do you think of the color blue? Inquiring minds want to know.

Gee, and I thought it was just the Republicans who were intolerant of opposing viewpoints and felt the need to be snarky when someone doesn't agree with them. I stand corrected.

I'm guessing you don't like modern or contemporary art, either.

Yes, it really is a song, just not a traditional one.

I think it's a good song for the convention.

Yeah...I'm old, but the thought of a President who listens to John Coltrane and Jay-Z appeals to me. I don't care if it sounds silly.

This was a great moment in the campaign (along with Stevie Wonder performing "Signed, Sealed, Delivered"). All the better, because this was a video that went viral online - made a small media splash on the news, but still really was an online success. Of all the many many trends that have underscored this year's election - the technological revolution is one that we are living through, and despite our many words on the subject, we have not yet assessed the full impact of this change.

(Yes - I'm sure that was a clumsy paragraph, but I'm multitasking - trying to write and watch the convention proceedings at the same time!)
