Barack Obama: The iron fist in a velvet glove!

This speech calls to mind the Foreman/Frazier fight for the Heavyweight Championship. Toward the end of the fight Foreman hit Frazier so hard that Joe was stunned for what appeared to be several moments that his body stopped while his brain was still absorbing the ferocity of the punch. Finally after what appeared to be an eternity he jumped into the air and he caved unto the canvas.

McCain is now so stunned by the speech of Obama that he will take days for his mind to react to how Obama sliced and diced every political ad McCain created in the last 6 weeks and he did it in such a way that it appears that McCain is being hit in his solar plexus with his own words.

History made last night. Obama has taken the gloves off. He showed his love of country, and his call to all of us to be a part of the 21st century will be heard across America.

If they move McCain's speech to a larger venue, they'll have to stage a biker meeting and a wet t-shirt contest with free beer if they expect to fill up the stadium.

The other possible way for McCain to get an Obama-sized crowd would be to deliver the speech in The Metrodome...
During a Vikings game.

Quite impressed WITH the choice of Mile HIgh and OPENING IT UP to those WANTING TO BE THERE...LOL, the GOP's are having trouble even getting some of their OWN to show up i Minnie and the nonsense of how they try to "frame" it as a shame that Obama can actually DRAW the large crowds without being FORCED, lol, think the GOP envy and denotes their inability to match !! Obama hit it rather correctly when he pointed out that its NOT so much that McC does not CARE, he just fails to COMPREHEND and is stuck in the PAST and unprepared for the future. McC and his crew really just do NOT GET IT !!! Obama IS appealable to OUR better nature and instincts and DESIRES and does NOT procliam HE is the "savior", rather importantly, he realizes NOTHING WILL HAPPEN WITHOUT US, OUR INPUT and OUR EFFORT in the WHOLE process !!!

Yes, me too! I was a Hillary supporter who now stands united with the party for Barack Obama and Joe Biden. Obama gave a very good speech, and a wonderful, awe inspiring convention. It was one of the best that I can remember. I read on one of the boards one of the Republican supporters of McCain said "Barack is hyjacking our themes and middle class!" Hyjacking?? Republicans never had the middle class. They have the extreme rich, the misguided religious, and the poor rednecks who aren't too bright They fooled people with their fake family values theme that they abandon when they get in office, their policies are more family killing than anything else. Hyjack the middle class?? After what 8 years of what Bush has done to them, the few middle class people that they had fooled are finally wising up to their lies and bs. It took the pain of those people losing their jobs, houses, and way of life, it took them seeing what happened in New Orleans with Katrina and the Republican complete indifference and disregard to the plight of the people there, (but Brownie the horse trainer, did a "heck of a job" according to Bush) Republicans always screw the middle class and the poor. We need CHANGE, and that change is Brack and Joe. Let's take back our country from the leeches of big oil, Halliburton, and the uncaring charletons. We can do this together, and we must for our future. Obama 08'

Senator Obama didn't need to say where he was born, since it was stated earlier in the evening that he was born in Hawaii on August 4, 1961. Hawaii was definitely a state at that time, and is where his maternal grandmother and half-sister still live.

Having been born in Kansas myself, I wish that we could claim Obama as one of our own. We are proud that his remarkable mother and her parents were Kansans.

John McCain was actually born outside the (then) 48 states--in the Panama Canal Zone, which in the year of his birth (1936) was under the control of the U.S. The fact that McCain was born in Central America has caused some constitutional scholars to question whether his place of birth actually disqualifies him from being President.

That's the least thing that disqualifies McCain.

I noticed the McCain campaign responded with their trademark cynicism. I recall Lincoln once asked people to respond to "the better angels of their nature." However, today's Republican party has long since ceased being the party of Lincoln.

Under the Bush regime those "better angels" have fled the GOP.

The narrator was great, but it wasn't David Perry. David Perry was actually David Greenspan, the brother of Bud Greenspan, and passed away in 1991.

It was David Straithairn, right? He was great in that movie about Ed Murrow. I thought his voice was perfect.

History was made as many African Americans and whites only wept as Obama accepted his party's nomination.

Everytime John McCain opens his mouth all you hear is POW. The man is 72 years old, you would think that he has been a POW for 72 years because that's all he talked about. Onama speech was profound

Now you know why Gen Wesley Clarke said that being shot down doesn't automatically qualify for the Presidency..

America, look forward! Don't let the past define you, whether Vietnam or Iraq. You are not defined by wars and war heroes. You are defined by American dreams, the land of prosperity, grace and opportunities. Let the man who embodies the very American dream lead and inspire you, your country to restore your dream and your country's glory again.
