Rove And Lieberman

Politico reports that Karl Rove tried to pressure Joe Lieberman into withdrawing his name from consideration as John McCain's running mate:

Republican strategist Karl Rove called Sen. Joseph I. Lieberman (I-Conn.) late last week and urged him to contact Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) to withdraw his name from vice presidential consideration, according to three sources familiar with the conversation.

Lieberman dismissed the request, these sources agreed.

Lieberman "laughed at the suggestion and certainly did not call [McCain] on it," said one source familiar with the details.

"Rove called Lieberman," recounted a second source. "Lieberman told him he would not make that call."

The New York Times reports that McCain has decided who his running mate will be and will announce the decision on Friday.

Another Rovian tactic? Are we to sympathize with Lieberman against Rove and vote for John McCain? Frankly the Republican is so broken all the king's horses and all the king's men couldn't put this Republican Party together again.

And I see that Robert Novak just came out with an article suggesting that very same thing. But Rove and Novak would never conspire together on anything, would they? Everyone knows that journalists are pure.

I wonder why he is against Lieberman, after all, he is their boy! He is a traitor to the Democratic
Party, shamelessly too. And he matters just about as much as McCain does.
How anyone can vote against the people and soldiers every time and then claim victory is beyond
me. They are shamless.

The fact that Leiberman left the ranks of the only true protectorates of the working class to join ranks with the protectorates of the rich and well-heeled just shows that he himself wants to take advantage of the money that can be made by doing the bidding of corporate America while lining his pockets with special favors and under the table income shows you just what he is made of.
He belongs to the most corrupt political party in U.S. history they deserve him.
What working class AMerican would support a party, the GOP, that has done so much to stifle the working classes ability to better themselves finacially is one of the seven wonders of the world.
You say GOP we say corruption and greed is the calling card of the GOP.

Some of us True Republicans hate McCain too, as well as Bush. Dont trash the party, trash the NEOCONS who hijacked it. Obama may have his moment. But there are more moments to come. He'll get one term at best, and go the way of Carter; a failed reformer who couldnt handle the heat and made no progress because the banks rule this country and O has to toe the line like the rest. When are you all going to wake up. You dems are where some of us true republicas were in 04. Its going to take you another four years to find out what we already know....

It should be interesting as anyone he chooses has a ton more baggage than HIllary clinton did. Flip flop Romney who is formerly pro choice and probably has almost as many houses as McCain, that will be the Rich boy ticket! Can you imagine the ads of words coming out of Romneys mouth condemning McCain? He could single handedly sink the campaign

Jindal - the Exorcist?

Liberman the Judas?

Mike ' Lets shoot em' Huckabee?

I think Tom Ridge is the best choice. He'll bring in the disgruntled HIllary women support being pro choice, if there are any disgruntled Hillary supporters left after tonight. The Republican brand is dog food, he needs to mix it up to even have a chance.

So please McCain pick Romney or Lieberman.

CNN showed a clip of Romney this morning. The reporter made a comment about how Romney was asked how many houses he has and Romney replied "four...less than John Kerry." Last time I checked Kerry was not running but yet the CNN reporter did not call him out on this comment. Shocker!

Ridge or Lieberman will depress the conservative vote faster than you can say "pro-choice." And that, ladies and gentlemen, is the basic dilemma of the McCain campaign. Those two are the only choices on the short list that have a hope of standing up to Biden, yet their moderate positions will alienate the GOP base even as they might appeal to independents and liberals. Bottom line is, the Republicans have become so out of line with the forces of modernity and secularism that it's become dicey at best trying to appeal to both conservatives and mainstream America.

As for the veep I'm thinking Pawlenty, but we'll see on Friday. There will be no end to the amusement if it really turns out to be Lieberman.

Why is Rove not in jail? He is in contempt of Congress.

You mistakenly think that Congress cares about the Rule of Law. The FISA vote should have dispelled any lingering doubts about whether the Rule of Law is relevant in America. It's not. Even Obama no longer believes in the Rule of Law. The FISA vote testifies to that.

He is the personification of the GOP, he is the soul of ruthless character assassination. He is a McCain campaign adviser and an analyst for a network called faux news.

He is indicted man walking.

Remember, Leiberman is not "officially" a GOP party member, he is an Independent". So for Rove, he is fair game. I still think Rove is taking his orders directly from Bush and letting McCain know, in no uncertain terms, that Bush is still in power and calling the shots.

So McCain is thinking about picking Judas Joe Lieberman. In doing so McCain has confirmed to the right of what everything Rush Limbaugh, Ann Coulter, Bill Cunningham, and Mitt Romney have said. That he's not a real Republican. Republicans should question the loyal judgement of John McCain, who's side is he really on to pick a Democrat as his running mate.

Judas Joe Lieberman will be nice political fodder for the Democrats to use against McCain.

Not possible, she has had zero public office time. If Macs old ticker gave up then she would be commander in chief in a pantsuit, make a great story for us, but not even the GOP could handle that kind of cognitive dissonance.

Who the Hell is Carl Rove. Why doesn't he run for Office?
Why are Republicans so happy to have Carl Rove in the back?
Why doesn't he step forward and make all the big choices for his own bid for the Presidency?

The answer is. The Republicans are scared to have the Architect up for scrutiny.
And you can best belive Bush, Cheney, and Rove are scared Chiken about anyone having the power to investigate there criminal actions.

But you gottah pay the cost to be the boss!
The made all of these choices, just as they are trying to make choices for McCain now!
Did it ever accure to them that Americans are not slaves to them?
Didi it ever accure that Americans would have the stregnth to be out for JUSTICE?

Better put your running shoes on!

if we throw rove in jail for at least 5 1/2 years, does that mean he can run for president, on his 'experience?'
