Washington Post:

A Washington law firm filed a lawsuit yesterday against KBR, one of the largest U.S. contractors in Iraq, alleging that the company and its Jordanian subcontractor engaged in the human trafficking of Nepali workers.

Agnieszka Fryszman, a partner at Cohen, Milstein, Hausfeld & Toll, said 13 Nepali men, between the ages of 18 and 27, were recruited in Nepal to work as kitchen staff in hotels and restaurants in Amman, Jordan. But once the men arrived in Jordan, their passports were seized and they were told they were being sent to a military facility in Iraq, Fryszman said.

As the men were driven in cars to Iraq, they were stopped by insurgents. Twelve were kidnapped and later executed, Fryszman said. The thirteenth man survived and worked in a warehouse in Iraq for 15 months before returning to Nepal.

Michelle Obama said it best if clumsily My interpretation: since USA is but a few centuries removed from slavery< a few decades removed from equals rights amendments and civil rights movement< she is proud that a black man can be a nominee for POTUS but that black man is her husband>

Well i thought USA had its ugly history behind it> Now we see AMERICAN COMPANIES CANT LIVE WITHOUT EXPLOITING SOME RACE OF PEOPLE WHO ARE NOT WHITE> SLAVERY AKA HUMAN TRAFFICKING LIVES ON> Why didnt KBR get men from Denmark or Finland??? They are white and not easily explotied and certainly not a destitute and desperate as Nepali men and women>

Patriotism is impeaching George Bush and his gang who cant shoot straight> fire all the partisans that Bush hired in career jobs> Unpoliticize the DOJ>CIA> FBI and other agencies>

STOP BUSH FASCISM IN ITS TRACKS >>>READ NAOMI WOLFF BOOK

This company is utterly depraved and its behaviors need to be circulated widely as well as the officers punished. Slavery? Forced brothels? What century is this?

News Flash, folks! The "Free Market" also applies to human capital (Wuh?? You didn't read the fine-print??). There are no laws or protections for people in Friedmans' Utopia. Either you're of the "Selective Order" or you're a slave.

Think reeeeeallly hard about what the status of you and your children will be with the elites in the Neoliberal empire before you cast your allegience to Republicans or the New Democrats.

Over 8 years, you've seen Cheneys' lack of regard for human lives in favor of profit at all costs. Again, think reeeeallly hard, Republican cheerleaders!

Where are the indictments? Are Bush and his flunkies in the so-called "Justice Department" going to sweep this under the rug, too? Is Cheney going to step up to the mike and say it was appropriate and legal? Last question, will our gutless legislators let this outrage slide they way they have all the other crimes committed by George Bush and his cabal?

When McCain was asked about this, he replied "I was a slave for 5 1/2 years".

These were our tax dollars at work, so the officials in KBR, and Halliburton, at the top, should stand for criminal charges for this.

KBR is part of Cheney's HALIBURTON. I wonder if Cheney allowed for their passports to be seized?

That is one of the most horrible stories I have ever heard.

Can you imagine the terror and horror those poor people had to go through? As slaves?

They had Nothing to do with Iraq. Had no reason for even being there.

If this is true the officials of KBR should be prosecuted and jailed for the rest of their natural lives.

I don't believe in Capital punishment. But if the officers of that Corporation did this they deserve the worst punishment our society is able to inflict.

No end in sight, if McCain becomes president. Remember, it's John McCain that wants us to stay in Iraq as long as we've stayed in Korea and Japan, so McCain can maintain KBR and Haliburton's business as usual!

I think we've reached a clear moment in time, where America must decide to stop these criminal abuses! Vote Obama! Or the next slaves sent to Iraq (with no way to defend themselves) might be your fellow Americans.

We need busier law firms; Corporate America has been engaged in this practice since Bush "took" office. Why'd you think we've got so many illegals in here? The corporations just bring them in for slave labor; you know, "the jobs Americans won't do"?

Then, when Congress tries to limit the work visas, Bush just goes ahead and issues them anyway.

Slavery is NOT over in America, folks. And most Iraqi contractors have treated that country and others like the wild, wild west. I truly believe it was the contractors/war profiteers who started the "insurgency", and our troops have paid for it with their blood.

Yes the question is why isn't the MSM covering this on TV? This is not the only story I have heard about these corporations. I saw an interview with a young woman who was sent to Iraq from the US and she was raped. She tried to report it and was soon locked in a shipping container and held there.

These corporations are criminals and it is time to tell the stories and for our government to shut them down and go after them. Unfortunately I do not see this happening if we don't make a real change for the office of President.

I am quickly becoming ashamed of my country and what is being done in my name as an American.

The reason the MSM isnt covering it is because it has no mention of O B A M A in it at no level.

Believe me if even one of those people involve ever lived on even the same street with O B A M A when they were kids,It wld have been news of FoxNews. or perhaps was born in the same hospital as O B A M A Lou Dob ,Rush Limbaugh will mention it.

I certainly hope so.

This what you get when you allow corporations or individuals to be above the law. When there is no accountability.

Someone will always abuse a system if they think no one is watching. (Hell, often enough when they know they are being watched.)

This is a much, much worse crime than any street criminal could commit. Enough of them are in prison.

Lets build some more cells for these Bastards.
