Andrea Mitchell: John McCain Only Met Sarah Palin Once (VIDEO)

On MSNBC this evening Andrea Mitchell reported on how minimal John McCain's interactions with his choice for vice president, Sarah Palin, have been. According to Mitchell, McCain only met Palin once.

John McCain on Friday announced a running mate whom he met only six months ago and with whom he spoke just once on the phone about the position before offering it in person earlier this week.

McCain's first encounter with Sarah Palin came at a Washington meeting of the National Governors Association in February, according to a campaign-provided reconstruction of how the little-known Alaska governor was thrust into the national spotlight. The two discussed the position by phone on Sunday before McCain invited Palin and her husband to Arizona to formally make the offer. McCain, joined by his wife, Cindy, did just that Thursday morning at their home near Sedona, Ariz.

And as Think Progress is reporting, McCain Campaign spokesperson Nancy Pfotenhauer appeared on Fox News earlier today and was asked how well McCain knew Palin. Her answer to host Bill Hemmer:

You're running flat into the wall of my ignorance here, Bill. I truly have no indication whatsoever the extent of a relationship that exists with the Governor of Alaska.

How many times did Obama meet w Biden? Twice. They have a staff that handles the vetting. Palin is a terrific choice for GOP. She's far more executive experience than Obama who aspires for the lead position. Her popularity is 80% in Alaska. Wake up people. It's time for a female VP

How stupid a remark. They worked togerther on the same committees in the Senate for two years, competed against each other in several debates early in the campaign. John McCain has a very good chance of not making it through his term due to his cancer history and the woman was a mayor of a city of 8 thousand and 18 months a governor who used her position to fire her former brother in law. Obama served in the Senate with Biden, they were on the campaign trail together for a year, they serve on the same sub-committee. Obama KNOWS Biden. McCain has only MET Palin once. One time. What kind of judgement is that??

Are you crazy? Barack met Joe Biden at 17 times in the debates. They also met several more time s than twice. Her Executive Experience is for 18 months are Governor of a small state. Before that she was the mayor of a town with 6500 people. Not really high pressure executive experience...... this has nothing to do with her being a woman. If that was all it took then why not just go get any uterus. It is demeaning to woman in general and Hillary in specific to think that her voters will just follow any woman simply because they are a woman.
