Time magazine's Michael Grunwald and Jay Newton-Small note that McCain's pick for vice president Sarah Palin does not have well-developed views on a number of issues:

It's not clear what Palin thinks about foreign policy or many other national issues, though she has criticized the lack of a long-term plan for Iraq. And the top consideration for any candidate for the number-two job is readiness for the number-one job, an issue that may weigh more on voters' minds when the potential number one has just turned 72 years old.

It seems criminal, really, that the corporate media didn't give George W. Bush the same scrutiny they are about to apply to Sarah Palin. Discovering the corporate slant in this current media has taken a tremendous toll on America.

Wouldn't it be nice, sometime in the next decade, to have an administration that is not at war with science?

Simple, let's schedule a VPs debate ASAP, should be a lot of fun...and let's leave the French out of this, they have their own idiot to deal with.

Hey. I'm a soccer mom, went to college, and was active in my PTA. Maybe McCain will let me be Secretary of Defense!

And maybe Obama will. He needs some mentoring.

Nice non sequitur, but Obama has already proven that he surrounds himself with the best people, as his VP selection of Joe Biden shows. There are few people better versed in foreign policy than Biden, and there are even fewer people with less foreign policy experience than Sarah Palin. It's obvious that Obama takes the job of both the president and vice president seriously, while it is equally clear that John McCain has no respect for either position.

"Former beauty queen" things bothers me. Not because she was, but because it is just after we have been hearing from McCain "big celebrity" trash talk. His celebrity complex? Or, is this yet another invention of flip-flops MaCain endlessly producing in this election cycle? More like old days analogy: matryoshika, a Russian dole taking off one figure revealing another doll inside, and another, and another. Now real McCain is so small, almost an ant size while media never turned the image of McCain from the first layer of the doll which is completely empty.

Wail till people find out more about Palin. It seems that McCain may not understand what it means to actually vet a candidate. He may have really jumped the shark on this one.

Never underestimate the idiocy of the American people. Dan Qualye and George W. Bush are basically intellectual midgets .

Republicans huge voting block are the people who love to get thier news from sound bites. With George W. Bush the ultimate "I don't get my news from reading idiot" became president led by the neocons with Cheney at the top.

Now they have the novice Sarah Palin and almost everyone with a brain can't get that move, they think it's very puzzling especially from a maverick and straight talking man like John McCain. You know John the patriot, who always puts his country first above all others. The same McCain which has been barking for months that Obama lacks the experience to be in the White House. However the Republicans get it, it's not substance that gets votes from the "sheep". It's smoke and mirrors that gets them elected.

Even Fox News were surprised and other Leaders of the GOP but they got the memo and are on board to sell Sarah Palin as the best and most qualified to be McCain's number 2 and if he can't finish his term well we all have President Palin to fall back on. John McCain and the Republicans will tell you that a former runner up beauty queen, "hockey mom", mayor of 7k population and 1 and half year term governor of Alaska which is a Republican strong hold for the right has what it takes to run the country.

It's been 24 hours and it's already clear how the republicans are going to spin any democrat attack on Ms. Pallin.

2 republican women went up against Carville and Paul on Larry King last night, within 5 minutes these women were accusing Carveill and Paul of being sexist. You could see Paul and James became really uncomfortable. The democrats can not be afraid to vet this women. She's a women who thinks she's qualified to be President, well she is not and their is nothing sexist about that simply fact.

Here here. The media needs to be as tough on her as they were on Clinton.

Well, at least she'll be up at 3am. (changing diapers). This is meant with no disrespect, however
having 5 children especially one with special needs will provide very little sleep for her. I wonder if she'll put "Country First" when we really need her. This is so unfair to her children, especially the newborn.
This is also unfair to the country, we deserve better than this! A potential Commander in Chief of the most powerful country in the world run by a inexperienced, sleep deprived mom does not make me feel cozy at night. This is serious stuff!! We will all be losing many nights of sleep if she has to step in on day one. John McCain, what have you done?

Palin was also the Captain of her high school basketball team. Another year of executive experience for her resume.

Even with their first female running as VP --- The GOP STILL DOES NOT GET IT.

Dear GOP: Putting a token female on the ticket does NOT equate to supporting women's rights. Hillary Clinton supported women's rights ... Palin is NO Hillary Clinton.

Sorry, GOP, but hey, thanks for playing.
