Palin

Time magazine's Michael Grunwald and Jay Newton-Small note that McCain's pick for vice president Sarah Palin does not have well-developed views on a number of issues:

It's not clear what Palin thinks about foreign policy or many other national issues, though she has criticized the lack of a long-term plan for Iraq. And the top consideration for any candidate for the number-two job is readiness for the number-one job, an issue that may weigh more on voters' minds when the potential number one has just turned 72 years old.

Time: Obama's foreign policies are crystal clear:

1. Cut and run.
2. Negotiate with terrorists.
3. Ask France for permission.
4. Take orders from the glorious U.N.

For your information. The bush administration is now adapting Obama foreign policy. Why don't you go and vote for her just because she has a Pu**ssy.

Mr. Cleveland, judging by what you wrote, you wouldn't know a foreign or a domestic policy if either walked up and slapped you in the face.

This cut and run crap argument has to go....I don't know why you're so anxious to keep Americans in harm's way with no clear objective other than policing....which I thought the party of Reagan was supposed to be against

McCain's foreign policies:

1. Bomb bomb bomb, bomb bomb Iran
2. Stay the course and waste American lives and treasure
3. Finish the Vietnam War
4. Appease China

Ok, reading the tro!! comments today, it seems we are being offered a debate about the definition of "experience". Not the amount or quality of that experience or one's accomplishments. Clearly they think being the mayor of a back-water small town (Alaskan's words, not mine) qualifies someone to be VP. Well, Palin is a pale comparison to other females who might have deserved this honor, but she gives the Right the talking points they know and love.

I have laughed so hard reading the blog posts, comments and video.... this really is "McCane's Folly". But, now that we've had our belly-laugh, I think we must re-focus. We all need to arm ourselves with the facts of Sen Obama resume and somehow drag the conversation back to the issues and failures of the last 8 years.

We have to change the debate. It's not about experience (see e.g. Dick Cheny). It's about INTELLIGENCE and COMPETENCE. I support Obama because I feel that he is the smartest and most intelligent political leader in my lifetime (and his educational accomplishments, writings, books, and speeches back this up). Can't say the same for a woman who majored in communications at Idaho State and went on to be a TV sports reporter.

Athenasword, I agree with you in essence. And the solution you offer is correct. I would add, however, that this is no laughing matter. It is not only serious, it is dangerous.

Here we have a 72 year old candidate for the most powerful office in the free world and he selects the person who might have to replace him in the event of his demise based on a gut feeling after meeting her only once in his life. McCain has not put his country first. He has placed the lives and futures of more than 300 million people, the security of our nation and our reputation abroad into the hands of a former PTA President, Mayor of a 5,700 resident town and a novice governor with no foreign or domestic policy experience.

And the scary thing is that there are millions of people who will fall for this sham and they will vote for him because like John McCain, they really don't understand how serious these times are for our country and they are more interested in serving their own ideological interests than tackling the challenges facing our nation.

And guess what, some, not many, but some of the people willing to vote for McCain/Palin are former "supporters" of Hillary who are angry and willing to throw Hillary under the bus just to have the chance to vote for a woman.

Good point! They seem to place no value on quality of experience, so . . .

I have watched presidents and vice presidents speak on television for 50 years now. Where do I sign up to run?

STOP FEEDING THE MONSTER!

You guys are wasting too much time on the details of a "bad decision" instead of allowing JM to suffer his consequences by himself. He is the one who WILL suffer, believe me.

If we do not take anything he does as being personal, we will be more able to laugh it off. We know in our hearts he will NOT be elected with the mess he's made of his campaign and the idiots who rule him behind him. So, we need to just leave him alone.

Why should we upset ourselves for his stupidity? Can't you see how "rovian" we are acting. This is what they want ..... for us to "divide and conquer" ..... for us to fight among ourselves while they do their sneaky wheeling and dealing right in front of our faces. Wipe away the "smoke and mirrors" and see the truth. Don't allow them to break us apart like they are doing. Let's stay together and stay strong and they will eventually fall apart at the seams of their deceit.

Let's fight them by saying NOTHING about them. Let's find something else to talk about and they will try their hardest to find something ELSE to upset us. Just watch and mark my words. If you're upset, they are happy as can be. If you're NOT upset, they will find something else to upset you. Just watch and listen and you will finally see what they do best. SMOKE AND MIRRORS!

Maliki accepted O's plan for a 16 month withdrawal from Iraq. Pretty impressive, especially since Maliki didn't like McCain's idea of an indefinite occupation (and McCain has been in the senate forever). Judgement trumps experience. Palin can't make a judgement on foreign relations matters because she doesn't have a clue................

As usual, a Republican thug pretending at "sharing' ideas. Except that it is "rehashed".

The woman was FOR the Bridge to Nowhere before she was against it!!! She only dropped the idea when the US taxpayers wouldn't pay for it. She just didn't want her oil-rich state to pay for its own conveniences, bit would certainly suck up the increasingly meager resources of the lower 48 who are going broke from the Iraq war.

Under no circumstances does she deserve credit for standing up to Stevens and that other guy for their pork barrel exploitation of the US middle class. Her big accomplishment is thus a big bite of moose puckey.

Typical, hypocritical Republican. If you don't want four more years of Bush, gotta fight the latest personality cult.

This was not a freaking beauty pageant. If all I have to do to be vp is know how to suck d!@k and have a c@^t I would have let my wife throw in her hat. She is hot, has a masters degree in economics from Cornell and is an economist for the largest bank in the world. She has more credentials than this s!^t. I am a republican and am telling you there are many who are not happy. McCain has lost it for me.

This is John McSames's first major decision as the nominee??? Sarah Palin=Harriet Miers=Alberto Gonzales=Brownie=Monica Goodling and all the other unqualified loons that the Republicans put in positions of import. The difference between the experience of Obama and Palin is reflected in the wisdom of the American people who came out by the millions to support Obama. On the contrary, twelve people in Alaska a movement does not make. What a joke...

Since there's a lot of campaigning and crash education for Palin before November, I guess a space shuttle mission, for her, at this time, is out of the question?

"It's not clear what Palin thinks about foreign policy". I presume, by foreign policy, in this case, you're referring to any action outside Alaska?

Because she said that decisions made would have to be determined by what's in it for Alaska. She's never thought outside of Alaska. Does she consider that this is something like the E ticket ride at Disneyland and that other heads of state might not understand what "yup" means? And gee, golly - lets put moose hotdogs on the list for school luches. Even her daughter said that she's not wired right. I know she thought she meant it as something "nice" about her mom, but I don't think this is going to fly. Already, people are laughing at her. Myself included.

According to Steve Doocy (what a dullard's name) of Fixed news, Palin (Pale-in) is so knowledgeble about foreign policy because she lives in Alaska which is very close to Russia.
