Olbermann Rips AP Reporter's Analysis Of Obama Speech (VIDEO)

In an unusually heated attack on a veteran political reporter by a cable news host, MSNBC's Keith Olbermann laced into the Associated Press's Charles Babington an hour after Barack Obama had concluded his speech in Denver on Thursday night.

With rare exception, nearly all of the top commentators and reporters on the three cable news networks had hailed Obama's speech as something new and powerful, and filled with specifics, and predicted it would have a positive effect on his chances vs. John McCain. This hallelujah chorus included conservatives such as Bill Kristol and Pat Buchanan and the longtime Republican David Gergen, as well as Tom Brokaw and Brian Williams. Buchanan called it the best and most important political convention speech he had ever heard, going back 48 years.

A lot of people were not impressed by Obama's speech, including me. The event was grand, the speech was bland. Some people are confusing the event and the fireworks with the actual speech. No one will remember anything he said by Monday. KO is assuming everyone has to agree with him.

Babington 's green eyed monster is showing. Some Republicans will try to diminish Obama's speech in an attempt to help Mccain. One of them is Leslie Sanchez. And he needs all the help he can get. But it is not doing any good. Most Americans are clued in to the spin. If Buchanan can call it as it is, we can be sure the nay sayers are jealous liars.

Olbermann is so full of himself he's become a LAUGHABLE spectacle. I watch him just to see what meltdown he'll have next to embarrass himself on TV. And I love how some defend him by saying "KO is a commentator and the first to say that!" Baloney. When he wants to take a cheap shot, he's a commentator. When he wants to slant news to his warped sensibilities, he's an "award-winning journalist­." He's a total hypocrite.

I USED to like KO, but he lost me during his rants against Hillary and McCain. One of my favorite bits of the primary season was a show opening where he declared: "Tonight! We profile John McCain's continued prejudice against Gays with his opposition to Gay marriage!"

Really, Keith? Prejudice? That's a strong word. You mean prejudice the way people literally got hosed with water in civil rights marches, that sort of thing? So you're saying you're concerned about Gay people and their rights? Then if that's the case, a RESPONSIBLE and FAIR journalist would have stated "Tonight! We profile John McCain AND Barack Obama's continued prejudice against Gays with THEIR opposition to Gay marriage" since Obama is only in favor of civil unions and not full marriage TOO.

Only the looniest of the Left think he's uttering something other than vile hatred -- which regrettably he now aims even at his own co-workers, a sure sign of an ego out of control.

Can't excuse this on the basic of written text vs. vocal delivery.

Maybe if that speech had been delivered by a wall-flower sixth-grader, it could be dismissed by a partisan reader; but there can be no question on several pertinent points:

-- Obama is a great speaker.

-- Obama is deadly serious about his direction and priorities.

-- Obama is speaking for at least three-quarters of the American people, when he says -- no, shouts -- "Enough!"

The ONLY available conclusion is that this Charles Babington guy is a paid professional Right Wing booster and lie-crafter, who should be "honestly" blogging his slanted opinions, rather than trying to pass himself off as an actual journalist.
