Politico:

Count Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin as one of the most surprised that she was chocen as unning mate for Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.).

In an interview just a month ago, she dissed the job, saying it didn't seem "productive."

In fact, she said she didn't know what the vice president does.

Palin campaigned for Pat Buchanann in 1996.

Here are some famous quotes by Mr. Buchanann:

Does Palin Agree with them?!

All of this chatter does not matter. The media loves scandals. This woman has not been vetted! The GOP will look really dumb in the end when they find out what kind of woman she really is. Scandalous!

STOP FEEDING THE MONSTER!

You guys are wasting too much time on the details of a "bad decision" instead of allowing JM to suffer his consequences by himself. He is the one who WILL suffer, believe me.

If we do not take anything he does as being personal, we will be more able to laugh it off. We know in our hearts he will NOT be elected with the mess he's made of his campaign and the idiots who rule him behind him. So, we need to just leave him alone.

Why should we upset ourselves for his stupidity? Can't you see how "rovian" we are acting. This is what they want ..... for us to "divide and conquer" ..... for us to fight among ourselves while they do their sneaky wheeling and dealing right in front of our faces. Wipe away the "smoke and mirrors" and see the truth. Don't allow them to break us apart like they are doing. Let's stay together and stay strong and they will eventually fall apart at the seams of their deceit.

Let's fight them by saying NOTHING about them. Let's find something else to talk about and they will try their hardest to find something ELSE to upset us. Just watch and mark my words. If you're upset, they are happy as can be. If you're NOT upset, they will find something else to upset you. Just watch and listen and you will finally see what they do best. SMOKE AND MIRRORS!

"Let's fight them by saying NOTHING about them."

Have you seen anyone say anything of note?

They're just trying to minimize her reformer accomplishments and ignoring Obama's nothingburger accomplishments.

I totally agree with you. All of we Dems, including the Clinton fans, should refuse to post on pages that are in regard to Palin. We can certainly read them but not fall into the trap of arguing with the idiots that troll here. As you said, let John McCain and his followers stew in their own juice. They are the ones that have made a tremendous error in judgement.

Please do some research! Palin is no friend to working people, the environment, civil rights, healthcare or education! She is a right wing puppet they don't mind throwing away in a no win election! I actually feel sorry for her...she is so over her head!

Please read newspapers from Alaska.

She doesn't have an 80% approval rating.

When she left Wasilla, Alaska after serving as Mayor, she left the town in
financial tatters.

In 2006 she was FOR the Bridge to No Where, campaigned for it.

Later when the bridge became world wide news and not good news, she changed
her political mind.

A flip-flopper just like McCain.

Obama funneled public money to developers besides Rezko and in return accepted their political donations. The development projects (in Obama's district) then went to shambles. Obama got his money and the developers got theirs and the people got screw-ed.
Obama's endoresement of Stroger (corrupt) over Claypool (reformer).
Obama's deal with Emil Jones to have bills taken away from sponsors and given to him when they were were nearly ready for a vote in order to pad his resume.
And then there's this...

Oh! Give it up! No one is listening to this crap anymore! This election isn't about Obama it's about us just like he said. I can personally vouch for the decency and committment of Barrack Obama as a citizen of the state of Illinois. There is dirt to find on everyone, bad choices made, positions altered, things badly said especially when proof can be manufactured and or erased away.

WE don't care about any of it...WE care about addressing problems...BIG PROBLEMS! There will be no swiftboating allowed this time because our ship of state is barely afloat.

See - this is exactly why our country is in so much trouble. THIS is how we ended up with an idiot in the White House for EIGHT YEARS...Because people actually believe this crap. Seriously, any logic or common sense what-so-ever here??

If Obama had ACTUALLY done these things of which you are accusing him - he would be in jail with Rezco. He has never even been accused (by anyone of any importance) of any wrongdoing.

Typical Republicans can not win on the issues, so they throw out shiny objects for their mindless minions to glom onto...and unfortunately - it appears to work.

A Creationist Cheerleader with No Foreign policy or National Security experience who was ardent campaigner for the anti-semitic Pat Buchanann in 1996 should NOT be heartbeat from presidency.

Governors don't usually have to deal with foreign policy questions other than trade, deploying the National Guard, dealing with border countries like Canada, and so on. Community organizers and many Senators never even do that much .
Besides she has been to Iraq without being shamed into it.

Once again, macncheese shows us that he does NOT have the judgment to be president. The most important decision of his candidacy, and with a list of capable republicans. He instead chooses the hockey mom of 5. From the state with less than 3/4 of a million citizens. On the job training equivalent to 20 months and no foreign policy background other than to be russia's neighbor geographically..

No knowledge or interest in Iraq or what a Vice President's job requires.

All - what - 600,000 of them...hey - maybe next time someone should pick the mayor of Phoenix for a running mate ...Wait, no that isn't a good comparison - the mayor of Phoenix has been there for 5 terms and the population is more than DOUBLE that of Alaska--- oh, and the Phoenix city council probably is in session more than 90 days A YEAR (which is how many days the Alaska legislature meets)

Come ON, you can not possibly - with a straight face -- honestly say you take this seriously -- This is purely a political STUNT...Palin is NO HIllary Clinton...Hillary Clinton is competent and worked her way up -- THAT is what shattering the glass ceiling is all about - if a woman works as hard as a man, she can achieve as much -- Palin isn't an example of shattering the glass ceiling because though she may be an accomplished woman, she hasn't even come CLOSE to earning this, she is an example of tokenism, at BEST.

Any self-respecting woman should be mightily insulted - that McCain and the Republcans believe that our little brains are not capable of seeing past the overies to the anti-woman policies Palin so militantly supports.

Palin dissed the VP job and Biden said he wouldn't take it.
Well, Joe's not gonna get it so that'll work out fine.

Hey - at LEAST Joe Biden knew what the VP did when he said he wouldnt take it.

I'm sorry - I'm simply ASTOUNDED that so many people take her seriously -- if she were a man, McCain would have been laughed out of the party...But hey - I guess Bush Sr. won with Day Quayle on the ticket -- so you never know...of course Bush Senior wasn't a 72-year-old four time cancer survivor.

Remember the was a Rove-team selection and might be brilliant.

This solidified the right, religious right to show up at the poles.
She will get some Hillary voters as well who won't vote for Obama.
Any attack on her issues will be spun into playing the sexist card.
Biden will have a hard time with the debate because he can not show his attacking debate style.

Guess who will be getting ALL of the cable, network coverage. Just note: she will be getting all of coverage......."so the American public gets to know her before the election". It takes the pressure off of JM......doubt we will ever see another gaffe by old John.

If they were to win, they could elect their Supreme Court which would overturn Roe v Wade. This would increase the population, increase the number of unwanted children, increase the number of homeless who lose their homes because they have no jobs, or make such a small amount of money that they cannot afford to provide food and shelter for their families.

She could always use her time to hunt wild game, skin it, tan the hides and make blankets and stews. This would come in very handy, as she could supply them to the overcrowded homeless shelter and super long lines at the soup kitchens.

They both dissed the job they are now running for? What's the difference? At least she wants to do more as VP. Biden just said he didn't want it.

You know what, when I first heard about the selection - I didn't think anyone would be obtuse enough to fall for it either --- Apparently I was WAY OFF...

This is very scary to me.

Everyone says that McCain will be another Bush term...I Absolutely Disagree...He has just demonstrated very clearly that he will be MUCH worse.
