Palin Dissed VP Job

Politico:

Count Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin as one of the most surprised that she was chocen as unning mate for Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.).

In an interview just a month ago, she dissed the job, saying it didn't seem "productive."

In fact, she said she didn't know what the vice president does.

McCain is so totally handled I am surprised he knows who she is, and yet she is his running mate. I don't think McCain really picked Palin so much as he had her picked for him. His advisors apparently picked her for him sight unseen and he rubber stamped it after a single meeting. Palin took the offer after very little thought after she was approached by McCain's people. All in all, it sounds very much like an arranged marriage designed to provide photo-ops.

McCain does not intend for Palin to ever be V.P. She is being used to destroy the Dem party and our candidate by our own hand. Here's the Rovian scenario (my theory):

1.) McCain picked her to provoke sexist treatment/comments which will piss off the PUMAs AND to sear a viceral, irreversible experience of fear into the American psyche of what it is like to have someone with no experience so close to the presidency.

2.) Palin's ready-made scandal (trooper-gate) and extremist right views will cause too much controversy in the MSM and she will step out of the race before the election "for the sake of the party." But not before the Dems and Obama supporters make the case for not having someone with no experience (Palin) in a position to become the president.

3.) Once decoy Palin steps down, the Dems will have inadvertantly made the case to independents for why Obama (the least experienced candidate compared to McCain, Biden and Romney (McCain's real V.P.) shouldn't be president. The PUMAs will be too pissed off to support Obama and the Dems will lose.

Viewing this V.P. selection at face value is a MISTAKE. We are talking about Carl Rove here, folks...

Hey, that was a lot of fun! (And, by the way, it's Karl Rove, with a "K".) But, I'm guessing you weren't around in 1972 when McGovern's selection of Thomas Eagleton and subsequent need to replace him absolutely blew him out of the election. He would have lost anyway, but when you lost 49 of 50 states, you've really screwed the pooch. Having to replace your VP candidate is about the biggest f-up you can imagine.

Does anyone believe John McCain showed his political expertise when he made this disastrous choice for his running mate? And we're to believe she's the Republican magnet for attracting Hillary's supporters. Let me count the ways this was not only a bad idea, but wasn't even a particularly rational one either:

Janitors in the Capital building have more political experience and know-how

Hillary eats little homemaker-political dress-ups, such as Sarah, for breakfast, I suspect. As do many of her supporters.

Is Pro-Life and Anti-Abortion - Republicans just can't lean new things.

Supports continued dependence on fossil fuels and believes global warming a myth. These certify her membership in the Your-End-of-the-Boat-is-Sinking Club - hold regular meetings with the Flat Earth and Sky is Falling Society.

How ironic that many in the GOP did not know the proper pronounciation of her last name. Well, if I were they, I'd be more fearful of its spelling. For it spells W-A-T-E-R-L-O-O and will most certainly lead to McCain's exile to one of those many pieces of real estate he doesn't know he owns.

For millions of the rest of us, it spells good riddance to some very bad rubbish.
