This "Song for Sarah (Palin)" strikes a chord with me:

Never, ever, has the American electorate been so insulted.

On one hand, Sara wants drillng in Anwar and wants deregulation of the oil industry. On the other hand, she is dissappointed that Exxon didn't have to pay out what they owed Alaska for the spill in Price Williams Sound.

To think that all of a sudden, the oil industry is going to be responsible, when it didn't take responsibility for the Exxon Valdez spil is simply silly. I guess her desire for oil jobs outweighs her desire for fishing jobs... oh yeah, her husband is a fisherman. OK, so now I really am confused about what motivates this woman.

But most America won't care anyway. She looks good and so did Dan Quayle and his idiocy never prevented HW Bush from getting elected. Sara Palin won't help or hurt John McCain. Barrack Obama just has to beat him straight up.

I don't really know what to make of this woman. Here's some MP3s of what she's said in the past: http://www.entertonement.com/collections/2654/Sarah-Palin

Yesterday only a few Republicans knew nothing about Sarah, now the whole country knows nothing about her.

Sarah Palin isn't Hillary Clinton.

Sarah is also against the woman's right to choose, she belongs to a group called "Feminists for Life".

They couldn't be more different.

If you want to take medical decisions between a woman and her doctor away or a woman and her spouse, you are not a feminist.

She clearly has trust issues with women. As in she doesn't trust other women to run their lives.

Therefore this feminist will never have trust in her.

Umm, the last time I checked it was a TOTAL DISATER when a Governor from an oil state - W - became president.

And gas was only $1.42

Is she going to promise us the same gas rates that the Alaskans are paying, as in $10.00 a gallon?

Any female Dem who votes for Mc because he picked a woman would be like blacks voting for Alan Keyes as a choice because he's black. Ludicrous! This highlights perfectly how it's not about gender, race or age or any of that. It's about the vision and what they want to do for our country. He'll lose as many as he gains with this pick.

What if a moderate (and politically attractive) black Republican, like say, Colin Powell, was running? Would you think it was "ludicrous" if black Democrats voted for him? I agree that her politics are wrong--but I think attaching that to her being a woman is a mistake and a minefield that we shouldn't enter. AND you're inviting the retort that blacks are supporting Obama mostly just because of his race. Aren't we supposed to believe that Obama is our nominee because he is the best candidate based on all the issues?

Her Achille's heel isn't Governor Palin herself. You have to look into the eyes of her children at the event. The younger girls were bewildered by the crowds at her presentation as McCain's pick for VP.

This is a nomal suburban American Republican family suddenly thrust under the klieg lights of Washington politics.

The media will eat them alive. One misstep by her husband - can someone please tell him to dump the facial hair - an ordinary working guy, and she is toast.

I have a feeling that we should watch out for her...She might not be as innocent as she looks and could by a great factor in such a close race.
Obama please don't underestimate her.

Considering how the political experts did not see this coming, it is quite premature for the democrats to start crowing about victory, even before the sun has come up. The biographical story of Governor Palin may have more of an effect on the independent voters than the same political experts believe.

True, however with this one choice, McCain just made this election all about his age! He's had cancer twice and is 72...anything could happen to him (God forbid), and the though of her running the country, dealing with wars and other foreign issues scares me to death.

He has had cancer 4 times, not twice. And those are only the ones we know about. Someone his age is much more likely to have many more health problems and because we know nothing about his military record, why would anyone think he would reveal the truth about his health.
