No cheering in the press box?

The old journalist's maxim apparently fell by the wayside in Denver Wednesday night when WGN-Channel 9 anchor Allison Payne was spotted cheering for candidates at the Democratic National Convention, Robert Feder reports.

Chicago reporters covering the Democratic Convention in Denver were stunned to witness WGN-Channel 9's Allison Payne cheering and applauding for speakers Wednesday night while she was seated with the Illinois delegation in the Pepsi Center.

The veteran newswoman has been co-anchoring convention coverage for the Tribune Co.-owned station.

The report caps a rough two weeks for Payne, who slurred her speech and appeared drunk during the station's August 21st 9 p.m. newscast.

Payne attributed her behavior to a series of mini-strokes and insisted, "I was not drunk."

She is hot. She says she was not drinking and I believe her. Who cares if she does three times a day?
