The AP reports on McCain and Palin hitting the trail in Pennsylvania:

McCain and Palin made a morning stop at Tom's Diner in Pittsburgh's trendy Southside neighborhood. The running mates, with spouses in tow, greeted patrons and posed for pictures. Palin's daughters Willow and Piper were also on hand, with Willow carrying Palin's 4-month old son, Trig.

The first-term Alaska governor told reporters she was having fun in her new role. "It's great to see another part of the country," she said. She also said she'd managed to get a little sleep during the night.

Let's be fair -- she returned to her state of birth, Idaho, for college. Surely she'll be more than ready to deal with the economy, Russia, China, and the entire boiling middle east cauldron by Inauguration Day -- after all, she's been governor of the third-smallest state in the Union for nearly two whole years with only one itty bitty abuse of power scandal under investigation (so far)!

Wow, I can't wait for her to comment on how fun it is to learn about the issues that every other American has been dealing with. I look forward to her learning about crime, and education, and national security, and transportation systems, and agricultural markets, and infrastructure development on a scale much larger than the 680,000 population state she's been governing for less than a year and a half. That's great that she will learn how to be commander in chief with on the job training.

I am shocked, offended, and afraid. I can not believe that Senator McCain thinks so little of the safety of the citizens of America that he would pick an unqualified person to be his second in command. This woman could possibly have the power to make decisions that could cost all or some of us our freedoms, our security, our safety. Although I am a Democrat I followed the Republican campaigns this year as well. I can understand when people initially questioned Senator Obama. Who is he? What are his beliefs? We have had over a year to learn who he is, his beliefs, his management style, his behavior under pressure, his ability to interact with other leaders, etc. For many people one year is not enough. One year on the campaign trail and his history in public service will not do. Okay, I get it. But how on this earth can it be acceptable that with 60+ days left on the campaign trail is it acceptable for an unvetted, unknown, unqualified soccer mom to have control over the United States of America? I am not a Republican but I am sure that there are so many more qualified female Republicans with extensive resumes, thoughtful perspectives on foreign policy, domestic policy, healthcare, the economy, etc. How can anyone pretend that this cruel joke is acceptable? This is our lives, our security! Everyone is afraid to question her b/c she is a female. This is horribe.

Actually it’s frightening!
As you said Obama was relatively unknown but, he has been vetted by the voters, the media, and the republicans for nearly 2 years. We know his decision-making ability, his temperament, how he thinks. He also was chosen in and election. The people had a chance to decide. We have 60 days to find out about this neophyte.

This is the height of hyprocracy from the republicans.
1,Obama was attacked for having little experience / Palin has little experience ( Palin can’t compete with Obama on intellectual and academic achievements)

2, McCain said Obama would do anything to get elected; McSame, by picking Palin is doing just that.
