People magazine scored one of the first interviews with McCain and his vice president pick Sarah Palin. In the interview they discussed Palin's resume, being a mom, her child's down syndrome and her message to woman. People also asked her about her readiness to be president:

I've been in many black churches in my lifetime, and at one point or another, you will hear black ministers address the social injustices inflicted on blacks, from slavery to the present day. It's not just the church that Obama's family attended, it's very widespread. So, as I see it, Barack and his family had two options: 1) Don't attend church at all, or 2) Perhaps attend a white church where they wouldn't be subjected to the occasional tirades of black ministers; but I can guarantee you, they wouldn't be made to feel as welcome in a white church; been there, done that!

The connections with Ayers has been pretty much debunked. It was a weak argument at best. You act like Barack, at eight years old, was conspiring with the Weatherman. They had a few meetings together on a professional level. Get over it.

Is that the standard now? Perform background checks on every person you come in contact with; and have no association with anyone, anytime, anyhow, who might have done something objectionable in his/her past? In 1992, she ran for city council of Wasilla, population less than 9,000. I know McCain is trying to make her out to be really experienced, but he is equating her years of being a city council member of Wasilla, Alaska, with Obama's many accomplishments. She could be someone on the national stage later, but she did not earn it yet. Obama built his national reputation. He built his own candidacy, his message, and his campaign. He wasn't hired by the candidate. It is a completely different scenario. We had a choice to elect Obama as our Democratic nominee, but McCain foisted Palin onto his ticket, showing a lack of judgment.

This was a reckless and impulsive decision that has put no less than the safety and security of the United States in peril. This woman was a mayor of a small town a year and a half ago. She has been governor of a state 1/4 the size of San Diego, CA for barely enough time to decorate her office. How can the Republicans continue to even imply that Barack Obama is inexperienced? When Mrs. Palin was still a mayor administering trash collection, United States Senator Barack Obama was in the Soviet Union working to lock down loose nuclear weapons on behalf of the United States government:

when Palin was supposedly 7 months pregnant, she wasn't even
