People magazine scored one of the first interviews with McCain and his vice president pick Sarah Palin. In the interview they discussed Palin's resume, being a mom, her child's down syndrome and her message to woman. People also asked her about her readiness to be president:

Do you feel ready to be a heartbeat away from the presidency? SARAH: Absolutely. Yup, yup. Especially with a good team around us.

The second question would probably be "So, are you ready to preside over the Senate?" And her answer would most likely be "Oh, I'm not running for that position."

Classic! I'm disappointed that her kids, Track, Trail, Pixel, Scout, and Joystick were not included.

She doesn't get as much mileage out of those other kids as she does this one. Too bad she posed for that pic before everyone knew how much she put his life in jeopardy the day he was born.

That baby is really big for a 4 month old that was a supposedly a preemie.

For anyone who thinks Obama and Biden can't attack the hockey-mom fundementalist b/c it might po Hillary supporters.......

Nonsense: the difference is Hillary is tough as nails and can take on all-comers. That's one of the things people respect about her. They see the VP candidate hiding behind "but I'm a mommy so you have to be nice to me!!" facade and most HIllary supporters are just going to be d1sgusted and will see the HUUUGE difference between the two women.

By the end of the convention, if it does take place this week, we will how well the Republicans can gloss over a clearly bad choice for VP.

fact by fact, Palin's spin can be taken apart.

Here's a wee article about Palin's "attack the establishment" supposed cred-
it is an utter lie that she tried to do anything to stop the 'bridge to nowhere'.

She actively fought for funding.

Why is it the blogosphere has to do the detective work here?
The few reporters who are getting the facts are not major league, and it seems to take
a tempest in our teacup here before MSM will touch it. It has to have so many people aware of it, I bet they have an algorythm for stories they'd rather not touch. When x amount of people know, (times from where, and speed of meme) then we must cover it.

Which one of those kids is the black McCain kid?

From PEOPLE Interview:

* People Mag: "Sen. McCain, of all the candidates you considered, what drew you to her?"

*McCain : "Obviously, I found her to be very intelligent and very well-versed on the issues. But I think the important thing was that she's a reformer. She's taken on special interests since she ran for the PTA and the city council and mayor. The courage, I guess, is what most impressed me."

"Courage"???? WTF?

Palin has no CREDENTIALS - forget "Experience."

Interesting how the GOP are twisting the 'experience' word and omitting the "Credential" word.

She has no CREDENTIALS in dealing with:
* ethnic groups (there are none in Alaska)
* foreign policy
* national economics
* national border control
etc.

It will interesting to see if the media, in print & tv, spotlight on Palin's lack of credentials to be a heart beat away from a 72 year old President.

If Al (chicken little) Gore was able to be the VP anyone could be including a yellow dog for the dems.

Mr. Gore ran the CIA among other things over a decades long span.

I just love the pic above of the two families.

Where is Bridget MCain, their special needs child? There is hardly ever any mention of her in this campaign.

Sarah is a good choice for McCain because she is a Christian fundamentalist Neoconservative who will help the Republicans fight the Muslims and the Russians in the new world war and finally bring about the end of the world "Rapture", like it says in the Bible, so the Republicans can all go up to heaven and be with Jesus, hala-lool-ya, and a-men.

If people like you are there, I'll take the flames, thanks. We do not all share the same idea of 'heaven.' For me, it does not include a lot of pompous nitwits who would actually rejoice in the suffering of others, who express hate for those unlike themselves, and who would spend their hours hanging out on a message board of the 'opposition,' just to amuse themselves - and gleefully imagine they're causing harm. That's not Christian. Personally, I think those with your mindset have it backwards, but I'm happy enough to take the chance.

Don't forget that the criteria to be Vice President according to John McCain is to:

1.) Check on the President's health on a daily basis and
2.) Go to funerals and attend dinners

so...he picked the prettiest girl he could find to admirably fulfill his criteria.

I'd like to hear Al Gore on what he did on a daily basis or
better yet Dick Cheney since RAN the country for 8 years!

Oh, but I guess the GOP has already hired Dick for the next four years to keep things running smoothly...then Sarah can "learn at the feet of the master".

Grow up Sarah and place your country above your very blatant ambition.

For the first time during this campaing I really think Mcsame has a really good chance to win. This is so scary. Palin is such a smart pick. The Obama camp cannot atack her because they will be seeing as women-haters. He cannot say anything about her expirience cause the gop will say she has judgment. Another thing is that the gop will do with Palin ticket is move the important issues to a second and use the "cute" family hockey mom to distract the avarage voter...
its scary... lest hope the people reallt THINK in this election...

The Obama camp can and WILL attack her because it's obvious to anyone with a brain that she is completely unqualified for the position of second in command.

And Biden will use her as a piñata during the V debate.

An ancient eastern lifetime liber@l politician beating up on a mother of 5. How will that play with the disaffected Hillary voters plus all the women who were unsure on McCain . Go get her tiger!

I think he'll be polite, and calm - and the debate will be boring. I'm not worried they'll make that mistake.

No.

Palin wants Creationism taught in Public Schools

Palin wants Roe v. Wade over turned.

McBush has been on the Campaign trail longer than Palin has been governing.

She is CLEARLY not ready to be president.

No need to go on the offensive when it looks like she can self destruct ...

it should be fun to see how she does when asked questions regarding global warming, international trade, Georgia and Russia, Iran and it's growing influence, tax structure, . . . . .

She has no knowledge of these issues. How much can she learn by next week? I feel sorry for her. This is not going to be pretty.

Where is Bridget McCain in the People Magazine cover photo? In fact, where has 16 year old Bridget McCain been during this whole campaign? Is John McCain afraid of his "black" daughter being seen by his "hard working" supporters? What kind of family would leave out their only adopted child from the cover shoot, especially after making a fuss about how the Republicans were bigoted to assert that that child is a "black" love child? McCain needn't be afraid of Democrats using his "black" child as a political pawn. But he knows that. It's the Republican base he's concerned about.

Word of wisdom from Cindy McBush:

Cindy McCain: Palin knows foreign policy because ‘Alaska is the closest part of our continent to Russia.’

Today on ABC’s This Week, Cindy McCain tried to rebut the criticism that Gov. Sarah Palin (R-AK) has no national experience by taking a talking point from Fox’s Steve Doocy. McCain pointed to the fact that Palin’s state is near Russia............

Look at a map you d***bag. And maybe rely on a source that finishes a person's statement instead of hanging on the headline of some left-winger.

Excecutive Experience as Govenor of Alaska an oil - revenue State. Give me a break. Even I, with absolutely no experience, could run that State based on oil - revenues. Hell yes, drill in ANWAR it that means getting me elected. Like McCain she is a phoney.

On the right wing talking point that Sarah has more "executive" experience than Obama: that is also true of McC. McC doesn't have any executive experience, so why didn't they nominate Palin for president? But I want to ask all of you really expert users of the Internet (I am a little electronically challenged) to research the 20 months of Palin's governorship and see just what and how many executive decisions she has made in that time. Maybe even research her "executive" experience as mayor of a town smaller than the condo complexes in some of our larger cities. It is just laughable that these right wing bloviators actually compare a few years as a small town mayor and 20 months as a governnor to their own presidential candidates' experience as a legislator (26 years) and the legislative experience of Joe Biden (35 years) and Barack Obama (14 years). The city of Chicago has more people to govern than the state of Alaska.
If the Pubs wanted a governor with 11 years experience and a right wing religious conservative who actually campaigned so we would get to know him, they could have, should have chosen Mike Huckabee. What an insult to all of us . Isn't it frightening that the religious wrong think this unqualified person is a wonderful pick .
