Palin

People magazine scored one of the first interviews with McCain and his vice president pick Sarah Palin. In the interview they discussed Palin's resume, being a mom, her child's down syndrome and her message to woman. People also asked her about her readiness to be president:

Do you feel ready to be a heartbeat away from the presidency? SARAH: Absolutely. Yup, yup. Especially with a good team around us.

Do we have to look at the baby for four years - my goodness Palin - take a hint from Cindy, she and McCain will not show the republicans their black daughter because they don't want them to see what they have to look at for four years - I'm just saying -

I am truly sorry to say that McCain, in the photo above, has the distinct look of a medium to advanced stage ALZ patient !

The buzz is workers for Romney, Paul and Huckabee are launching moves to bring their Candidates nominations to the floor of the convention. The ideas are springing up at the pre-RNC meetings in the Twin Cities.
The Palin decision was the last straw.

anyone surprised??

The buzz must be coming from the DNC, because you won't see dissension at the Convention.

I'd like to believe it, but I am quite sure the Republicans exert FAR more power over their people than that. There may be some forced smiles, but I assume it will go forward uneventfully. I wouldn't tune in to that for anything - it will make me too angry, and who needs that?

I'd be surprised. The GOP is, if nothing else, highly disciplined.

According to the just-released Rasmussen Poll on Sarah Palin, only 6% of undecided voters are more likely to vote for McCain/Palin now, FIVE TIMES MORE, 31 PERCENT OF UNDECIDED VOTERS ARE NOW LESS LIKELY TO VOTE FOR MCCAIN.

The stunt has backfired big time! Bye-bye McCain! Here are the details:

"Among the critical undecideds, the Palin pick made only 6 percent more likely to vote for McCain; and it made 31 percent less likely to vote for him. 49 percent said it would have no impact, and 15 percent remained unsure. More to the point: among undecideds, 59 percent said Palin was unready to be president. Only 6 percent said she was. If the first criterion for any job is whether you're ready for it, this is a pretty major indictment of the first act of McCain's presidential leadership.

One other striking finding. If McCain thought he could present Palin as a moderate, he was wrong. A whopping 69 percent view her as conservative (37 percent as very conservative), and only 13 percent see her as moderate."

The team that sold America Dubya, the former governor of Texas, have proven for 8 years beyond any doubt that their idea of so called 'evecutive experience" is a farce of epic and disastrous proportions for hard working Americans.
They now are trying to sell another governor wirh "executive experience". Combine that with a senator who supports or disagrees with a position depending on the audience, the day ot the week, which way the wind is blowing and whether or not he had his oat bran for breakfast. Vote for sanity folks. Vote for your children, your pocketbook, your job, your home and your health care for a change. Just say "no sale". It's a pretty poor deal.

If you think about it, a governor is like the president of a little country. The state is the country and you preside over it making all the '"executive decisions" on varied aspects. You are the commander in chief of the National Guard, which of course would translate into your military forces, and you make all other decisions involving budgets, economy, etc. Therefor Sarah has way more experience than Barry because is just a Senator and has never had his own little country.

Oh please. This is the most ridiculous argument yet. You are comparing apples to oranges.

I have 'executive experience" in running my own little country also - my home. How small do you get before you show a bit of intellectual honesty and admit that her experience is nowhere near enough or relevant for POTUS?

She cannot match 0bama, regardless of whether he had his own little "country". He probably has more people organized and working for him NOW, every one of them with a specific task, for the election, than she had - NOT working for her specifically - in all of Alaska.

Get real.

Yada, yada, yada - she was Governor, of Alaska. Just one step away from leader of the Free World - and close to Russia, to boot! Wow.

Bush was Gov of Texas. He was very popular, I believe. Not a bad Gov (so they say) - do you think he's a good President? Answer, please.

If you do, well, 'nuf said. Most people today do not. We think he bites. Gov Palin has no discernable difference in policy or belief from Bush. Therefore - whatever her gender - I do not want her as President.

Right. The sitting president has all of your 'qualifications" too. Apparently they are not the best judge of a leader or competent commander in chief. This arguement, like the emperor, just has no clothes.

The best part of McCain's disastrous pick is that the media will be combing through Palin's bee hive with a fine tooth comb as opposed to finding fault or questioning Obama's every move.

election day is very close..i know Palin is probably multi-tasked (you have to be with five kids and a career), but shouldn't she be preparing for the attack dog (Biden)..he's going to mop the floor with her in the debates. She's campaigning when she should be practicing for the debates..Hurricane Gustav is definitely going to be a big distraction..something just isn't right with this..there's something else going on here. GOD ARE YOU THERE? PLEASE HELP US UNDERSTAND YOUR MESSAGE.

AND PLEASE SPARE THE CITY OF NEW ORLEANS.

Whoa, now, easy on the beehive. It may be part of her religious observance if she is truly a pentecostal. I'm not certain about the "rules", but the women I've worked with who were members of this religious sect take the bible passage about a woman's hair being her "crowning glory" literally. I also think there is some kind of rule against women wearing pants or other "revealing" clothing.

I truly hope the Obama campaign (or any 527s, for that matter) doesn't attack this woman over anything but her policies. Her religious affiliation means nothing. Bush is a born-again baptist, but he sent 4000 of our best to die for oil, while simultaneously casing the deaths of 100.000 or so innocent Iraqis. Nixon was a Quaker, and we all know how closely he followed those religious tenets when he held office.

2 things that should be out of bounds..her religion and her children. Attack them at your peril.

Some of the same people posting that we should baxk off discussing Palins child because its just wrong are the same ones a month ago were making fun of Edwards and posting pictures of his illegit baby. Why is it ok to talk about Edwards baby and speculate but not Palin? Oh yes, Edwards is a Democrat.

I assume the story isn't true because she's breast feeding (I know you can trigger that, esp after having kids, but it seems unlikely she'd do so) and because of the Down's issue. It also seems like she could come forward rather easily & say, yes, I'm raising my daughter's baby, for the sake of my daughter & the baby, as my daughter wishes. Too easy to get out of this pickle, really. (unlike Edwards) Maybe she's trapped in a lie, but it would probably play in a sympathetic way - mother protecting daughter, etc. (though I think it more likely she's protecting her own reputation, if true.) But either way - it just sounds too implausible.

I don't know what it is about this group photo, and some of the other pictures taken with the McCain's and Palin's together. But there is something very strange going on. It appears like Cindy McCain is trying to trying to move the spotlight onto her and her brood. Meoooow! Hisssss!
